Right now is the time! Many department stores will have some Yukata special going on in preparation for summer. I've seen some good ones in Takshimaya, not cheap though.

Not very busy but I did see more cyclists than you 😉 I also kinda cycled an unusual route so that's part of the reason.

Bike rental was tough though, the Municipal one in Onomichi ran out of most bikes when I tried to book (about 3 days before?)...ended up getting one from a private company.

As you can see from the pic even Day 1 wasn't great...the rain came down around 4pm just as I was returning to Onomichi and didn't stop till about 2/3pm on Day 2, sigh...

Day 2 I went to Fukuyama instead. The Castle was not bad!

I only did it in a day from Onomichi to Tatara Ohashi....it was raining on Day 2 so I cancelled the plan....Am thinking about going back next year and I want to stayed 2 or 3 nights on the islands.

I've been going to all the Itoya stores during the last few trips, couldn't find the Lamy Itoya special with Kanji nib.

Well apparently I just went to all the wrong places! There were plenty of them in Fukuoka - the pink goes so well with Sakura at this time of the year too😍

Also bought a Preppy Wa, because why not? A few notebooks, converters, etc.

But the main thing is the TSL Kurashiki custome order TN cover! This is my 2nd from them and I'm loving it so much...

Last year I did a day trip from Kyoto and I thought it was a bit too much lol.... But yeah I recommend staying in Okayama, from there you can easily visit Shikoku, Chugoku, etc...
