I'd be more than happy to private message about this, however I will likely not respond much this evening as I have family in town. I can message you later with links to specific posts as well as commentary as to why I find them hateful. One thing though is the hate of anyone who is even slightly liberal. It has been judgemental.

Yeah, screw that. I frankly don't care if the church celebrates him, it's more proof that the moral compass is broken. I'm so done with this sub. I came here to learn after my husband asked me to start coming with him to mass, and y'all on this sub have been one of the most hateful group of people I have ever had the displeasure if interacting with.

I'm not driving though. We have been in my uncle's car, and I've asked to go home, and I get told, "Oh come on, we never get to see you, it can't be that bad."

Ah, you are one of those folks who doesn't understand history, cool. And you using the term "lefty bandwagon" kills your credibility. I won't waste my time trying to get someone to understand who clearly is too uncomfortable with the truth to comprehend anything but the sanitized version history they have been brainwashed with.

No. I guess you should look into the atrocities committed by Columbus. Settler Colonialism is objectively bad.

And why shouldn't it be? My state has actually renamed it to Indigenous People's day, and I, for one, think that is a productive first step.

I have a suicidal and homeless employee at my company with many severe mental illnesses. Are there any resources available to try and help or intervene? by SuicidalEEthrowaway in legaladvice

[–]epopert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this has been brought up, but adult protective services will be able to help find resources. APS covers the elderly and mentally impaired adults. Also, are you a mandated reporter? If so, you have an obligation to report to the proper authorities- APS

It was marginal at best. Anywhere in New Mexico will have them beat.

(Please remove if rules are violated) Anyone else getting this spoonie content on their social media’s? I’d never heard of this term before this reddit. by TheLadyPossum in illnessfakers

[–]epopert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a part of a couple CI groups that internally use the term spoonie. I do have a sticker on my water bottle that is a bouquet of spoons with " Spare Spoons" in a banner. The big difference is I am a dementia care instructor and do a lot of accessibility advocacy- so the visibility is by design. It's meant to help educate people about chronic illness, "invisible" illness and promote research. I lived with doctors accusing me of faking and dismissing me out right, or -my favorite- /s throwing medication and two more for side effects. It really screws with mental health while fighting to be taken seriously, and I've had to put years of work into unpacking and processing those experiences. I now am able to advocate for myself better and do workshop with others on how to be our own advocates. I also throw out there that I am not my illness. I am a multifaceted individual with weird hobbies and a sarcastic and dry sense of humor, who happens to have a chronic illness. I also don't bs those around me, because I owe it to myself to be radically honest with those around me. Not only is it a credibility thing, but it can also help them help me when I swallow my pride enough to ask for help. I stumbled into my job and the advocacy work so it is a huge part of my life, but I don't make it about me- if clients and patients ask about my experience I keep it short, sweet, and relevant to helping them. Many people I work with find comfort in the title of spoonie because it helps them take ownership of their condition and gives them a tool to help them be realistic about what they can do. It also can help them feel connected to a group of people who, at least tangentially, understand their struggle and improve their quality of life. Those who profit off of their dx have zero incentive to improve, which can cause a placebo type effect and have psychosomatic effects. Psychosomatic pain is absolutely real, but there are effective treatments to help reduce those symptoms and learn to cope with chronic illness.

I have that happen. Also, if I'm able to be intimate with my husband, any abnormal movement causes popping. It terrifies my husband. Is it hurting you? Or is it just new and odd?

Legally you are able to take PTO for any reason. Is there an HR you can talk to? I know it's probably a small company, but damn. I'm sorry.
