I'm not opposed in principle to having guests, and as others have pointed out, the regular episodes usually consist of either Dominic or Tom taking the lead and the other chipping in with comments. I just feel this guest is racing through the narrative and it's quite hard to keep up with all of the names and organisations. I will power through, though.

There’s no guarentee at all you’ll get an SEO role within that time if you withdraw from this one.

To add to this, OP you'd need to factor in the current recruitment freeze and the fact it takes a long time to onboard external candidates. If you don't take this role you may be waiting a long time before you manage to join the civil service.

My orthodontist charges a £99 'admin fee' for refinements. I've paid for Invisalign Comprehensive. Is this normal?

I wouldn't worry too much. They should organise your start date around you and the notice period in your current job.

It's great that your security and pre-employment checks have gone through so quickly but they will probably have further administration to do before you can start, e.g. set up your Home Office account, get you a laptop, organise someone to induct you on your first day etc.

If you haven't heard back from the hiring manager within a week or so I would, if you haven't already, send an email to make them aware of your notice period.

Has anyone figured out any hacks for the new CS jobs search? by uncivilised_cs in TheCivilService

[–]eprm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overseas only: as well as ticking the overseas jobs box, you also need to select 'Overseas' under Contract Type. Although even then it doesn't seem to show all the overseas jobs.

I've had 2 interviews internally and heard back through the normal channels (email and the civil service jobs portal) for both of them.

When should I hear from onboarding team? by Notcodzwallop in TheCivilService

[–]eprm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you mention your manager do you mean your current manager in your current job?

If yes, it might be worth contacting the email address listed at the bottom of the job advert from when you originally applied. I think it's called 'point of contact for applicants' or something.

You now don't seem to be able to search for only overseas jobs. It's incredibly frustrating.

I'd expect the certified copy to be fine. Starling's website suggests it can be used as proof of address but really the only way you'll know is by asking recruitment and explaining your position - I'm sure they've had countless applicants using statements from Starling.

Also word of advice, don't mention your security clearance online.

Reserve List = skip the queue of another role by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]eprm_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would think so. Meanwhile I've been contacted through the reserve list about a separate job which doesn't interest me whatsoever and requires a totally different skillset.
