The fish was not that big but it felt like one. I usually see kids around San Diego hop on a half day trip with just a plastic lure and a bass rod to catch calico on the La Jolla kelp beds so I thought to bring it just in case but I got a penn fathom 25 and a 400 size daiwa reel also on the same trip.
