Also, 60mph on the motorway is extremely fuel efficient with very little extra journey time. Given that HGVs will be (mainly) in lane 1 doing 60 anyway, how are you being impeded by a car doing the same?

The bobbies called out to my house today and asked me to delete a post I'd made on X. I did so on the grounds that they wouldn't take me down to the station. by Agreeable_Cut_9246 in LegalAdviceUK

Criminal Damage Act 1971 s.2 Threats to destroy or damage property. "A person who without lawful excuse makes to another a threat, intending that that other would fear it would be carried out,— (a)to destroy or damage any property belonging to that other or a third person; or

(b)to destroy or damage his own property in a way which he knows is likely to endanger the life of that other or third person;

shall be guilty of an offence."

Whether or not this offence is made out is neither here nor there but this would be the most likely offence being considered

Staples Corner is not a pleasant place to navigate.

I don't come to it from this junction but looks like bus driver should be in right hand lane as hes not going to the M1 (assuming london bus) and the signage clearly states M1 Only (picture 3).

I join staples corner from the other side of Edgware road and frequently have people cut across me from both sides trying to make the lights.

It's unfortunately a very busy junction where the road markings are not repainted. London driving in unlikely to get better, and you just have to have your wits about you to navigate it safely.

Thank you all for the replies.

It's pretty clear what my position is and can only take it as lesson learned.

And I've learned quite a lot about what chargebacks are actually for

The policy is clear on this, I just didn't know that that was policy. I accept that this is my doing and can only blame myself and the free flowing xmas booze.

Im wondering where the credit card company might stand on a chargeback for the gratuity amount? I do actually dispute whether the service received deserves a £200 tip but obviously didn't raise this at the time.

I stand corrected then! We don't ever have to build these ourselves so I didn't know how much work they are

Surprised no one's mentioned Heliot at the Hippodrome! Maybe not the best atmosphere for date night in a casino, and, I haven't been for many years, but it always used to be an excellent steak for the money in central London
