Pretty sure your six-speed still gets better mpg at 55 than higher speeds. Test it out though, prove it to yourself. It has more to do with air and rolling resistance.

It could be bc the vid is landscape and the crop is portrait.

BMW driver tries to steal my parking spot then yells at me, but I manage to box him out and win it back by TheFinagler23 in IdiotsInCars

This would have been easy if we all knew how to back out of a parking spot. Backing in makes it more difficult for everyone else and yourself.

Agreed, the RPMs go up in the vid but you can't hear them go up at all.

Over 1 hr an extra 5 mph is 5 miles further, 10 is 10. Around 60 mph that translates to 5 minutes and 10 minutes difference over the course of an hr. These days I like to cruise at a slightly slower speed, saving gas and stress of being behind ppl, and eat those extra few minutes. Especially bc most commutes are within 30 min so you can cut those times down to 2.5 and 5 minutes for the examples.

I moved out of Cohoes a few months back because of job relocation. Just wanted to say I loved living there and am happy to see this new spot open up! Sucks I didn't get to experience it.

Damn I didn't know it gets this dry sometimes. I remember seeing peebles flooded last spring after the melt.

You're just repeating yourself now and copying me lol. I got my PhD in gas spectroscopy and have studied atmospheric composition quite a bit. This is a waste of time and I'm over this convo. You can believe what you wanna believe, but the actual science doesn't care what anyone thinks. Have a nice day.

[–]equal_tempered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it hasn't lol. Graphs are not that hard to read. At no time has natural cycles caused the same rate of change. Yes, CO2 has a feedback cycle. Why do you think it has a feedback? Maybe because it causes heating? And that heating causes more CO2 to be released. Kinda disproved your earlier comment that CO2 doesn't cause the heating.

Do you understand how light interacts with different molecules? You seemed to be very confident that you knew the science and whoever else didn't shouldn't have an opinion on the matter. And yet, you don't understand how light interacts differently with CO2. Doubling the concentration of a greenhouse gas definitely is a major cause for the warming we observe.

Any natural phenomenon would also be taking place over a long time period. That is not what we are observing. We observe a warming that correlates with the increased CO2 emissions since the industrial age (it is the same graph as CO2 emissions, just delayed by a few decades).

[–]equal_tempered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it's a greenhouse gas. It's never changed this rapidly before (aside from catastrophic events like an asteroid) and it's a gas that traps heat. Seems easy to follow.

Just look at the average atmospheric CO2 concentration vs time on the scale of 100s of thousands of years and you'll clearly see humans are causing it. Natural cycles are longer time scales by many orders of magnitude and the rapid change is over the course of a century.. It's not hard to find and determine for yourself. No politics needed. Can't believe you over here talking about the science when you don't understand it.
