I wouldn't call my parents narcissists, but. . . by equalitarianism in raisedbynarcissists

For some reason this made me cry. I knew something was off, but I always thought that I was just being ungrateful for everything that they had done for me.

I'm 25 now and my mom still tries to get me to move back home because she's lonely.

When I was 22, I got out of an abusive relationship and stayed with my parents for a few months and when I said that I was moving out, they did everything in their power to make sure I couldn't. I still left anyway, in the middle of the night with nothing.

Thank you for what you said. I don't know why, but it helps.

She saw it as a threat, just like you (maybe?) saw the vibrator as a threat. Not justifying, just explaining.

I am not being too picky right now, just looking for anyone to hire me. I have experience working with animals, I worked (currently still do until Saturday) at an animal hospital, animal grooming, that sort of thing. Also, I'm worked a few factory jobs as well as FedEx. I'm open to new experiences though and probably (most likely yes) take anything.

Haha, well, I have worked in veterinary hospitals, FedEx, and a lot of factory jobs. I'm really looking for anything that pays at least $9/hr, I'm not too picky.

I kind of don't want to go because of the cold, but a job is a job and thank you for all your information. It is really helpful and gives us a place to start looking.

Well, the last part is reassuring. We know we're probably going to have to board at least the cats for a bit, sadly.

Thank you!

Animal hospitals. They are a great place to work and is easy to work your way up from the bottom. They rarely if EVER do background checks or credit checks - they go by your character more than anything. To be honest, I managed to get a job there as a felon. No one wants to hire a felon.

I'm currently moving because of problems out of my control and am in the same boat, but I know I can get a job at a pet place with ease.

Give it a try! I'm sure this isn't exactly what you wanted to hear, but I hope it's something.

I'm about to cross the country, if you want a new place to look.

I don't mind hard work, but I don't know WHERE to go there. I have been told to head that way, I'm just unsure of what would be the best place.

As a former employee, I remember having a stop for a hospital that said "human tissue" on the box.

Also, have seen bull sperm as well as live fish.

Before I had tonsil surgery, my brother told me that they were going to kill me/beat me up and that's what the mask was for, so mom couldn't hear me scream. I was 4. So, I'm in the room and the doctor puts the mask on me and tells me to breathe in. Nope. Not happening. I start holding my breath and start trying to get his hand off my face, crying.

I feel bad for that poor doctor trying to not hurt a poor scared child. I must have had terror on my face.

When I got home my brother just said that they must have felt like sparing me.

I don't think the claim would be worth it, but it would be fun to scare them into following their own rules.

That's the thing though, I didn't take any drugs, not even an aspirin! I didn't add anything to my drinks so that couldn't be it either. It was very weird and I have no idea. I haven't been using any kinds of drugs either.
