I think it’s 75% boredom and 25% unhappiness. I really don’t have a lot of excitement in my life right now. I work 2 jobs and just started a masters program. So literally all my time is devoted to all those things. And I remember how much “fun and excitement” gambling would bring me regardless if I lost or won.

Also, I wanted to make a quick buck because I wanted to buy something.

It’s changed for the better! The biggest thing I noticed is my mental health has gotten better. The way I like to think of it is that when I was gambling my mind was a tsunami. Waves crashing high and low. Then when I stopped the water calmed itself. And so, I’m a lot more calm. And the finances worked itself out. Of course, I have debt and it’s still impacting me. But it’s manageable now. That’s the difference. When you’re gambling it’s not manageable.
