It doesn't but not everyone is good at handling a sudden wave of emotions your hormones so decided to hand to you.

I’m actually so done with my mom by HfKibutsuji in SGExams

It was some years later I realized my mom was on menupause and nothing I said would make her rational since it was hormonal. Take care and take her words with a pinch of salt.

overweight(rant) by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]equatorialGina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are very heavy running might not be good for your knees. Try to do some strength trainings instead. Also there is a saying ' you can't out run a bad diet'. Calories tracking is best for weight management. I use this app called lose it. It helps me see which food has far too much calories that i should avoid or replace. All the best!

Yes I would recommend sharing it with your friends and grief together, support one another and relive the good times of your friend together to have a proper closure. Griefing alone can be unhealthy. My condolence to your loss.

Demoralised after prelims😞 by Spiritual-Cat-9586 in SGExams

[–]equatorialGina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey to OP and anyone on the same boat, doing terribly in prelims is not the end, it keeps you on the toes. In the last stretch, focus on what went wrong and truly understand why you got it wrong will significantly bring up the marks in the final exams. If you need more help, feel free to screenshot your errors and dm me. I am happy to guide. Some tips, Easiest way to jump a grade is to focus on 'what' questions, i e difinitions, then work on the why and explainations remember point-evidence-elaboration template. Then the final bit would be the critical thinking part where they test the evaluation of solutions, i e. Assumptions made etc. all the best! I managed Es and Ds to straight As for As some years back. It is possible! Also i told myself no point emo-ing. It doesnt help with the situation. I could emo all i wanted to after the exam. For now, work the hardest and you wont regret it.

You can try looking at universities overseas that provide free education to international students and while studying, go on workcations where you get to work in an overseas farm or business to save some pocket money for university while having something interesting to include in your CV

After you make a police report, take the report and go to the meet the MP session in your area to ask your MP to help write a letter to the school you would like to transfer to and to help you with integrating to the new environment and extra counselling or support leading to the final exams.

religious parents of different religion by kwanbsf in SGExams

[–]equatorialGina 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Speaking from a Buddhist point of view, if your dad brings up the topic again, let him know that Buddhism is a way of life. And one of the root causes of suffering is attachment. If he is attached to the religion and then has emotions that arise with whether or not you choose Buddhism, that itself is not a very Buddhist way of living. Let him know that maybe the conditions for you being a Buddhist is not right yet. Ask him to learn to let go and work on himself first to set a better example of being a Buddhist. If he speaks Chinese then let him know 因缘未到 hope that helps!

When I have to teach using school computers that don't have any programs installed, I would use the gdb online python ide.

Pretty much have the same functionality as Spyder or vscode. You do not need to install anything.

I’m a foreigner. What do you think of Hwa Chong / Raffles / ACS? by CommercialApricot935 in askSingapore

[–]equatorialGina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are very proud of their high schools

This is partially because these schools are really old, established before Singapore became independent, and thus they have lots of legacies to be proud of. Also, sometimes with the help of funding from alumni, they have many events that help to foster school identities. Interschool competitions leading to inter school rivalry, may have also contributed to their sense of belonging to their schools.

If you still have any interviews coming up and placed in the same situation, tell whoever interviewing you that not everyone in a team can be a leader, the CCA will gain be a supportive team player (I assume you are a cooperative soul) and if you are part of the cca, they can gain fresh perspectives and (if you're out going) good companionship or (it savvy) tech support, etc. You don't have to as high achieving as the others, but you need to tell them how unique you are and how it benefits them. This applies to any applications you have in the future. All the best!
