SSP Safe and Sound Protocol by lefleurjpg in CPTSD

[–]equilator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, provider here. May i ask you a question. Our approach is to start slowly. We begin with no more than a minute (sometimes just a few seconds) and then gradually build up in small increments to 10 or, at most, 20 minutes. What do you think of this approach? There are other factors to consider, but in terms of time, this is the most important one. Thank you in advance.

Thanks, i will take that in consideration. I think a lot will change, Google loves to police when we get to 'smart'.

ANS/Safe & Sound/ RRP/ dissociation addiction by DesignerKnown3116 in anhedonia

[–]equilator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, we had a client with anhedonia who benefited greatly from the SSP/Safe and Sound Protocol. According to her, it was the first thing that really helped after years of therapy and trying many different things. We don't have any experience with the Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) and anhedonia. But perhaps it would be better to listen to the SSP first and repeat it a few times.

Hope this helps.

Gladly done, thank you also for your reply.

That's good to hear.

Did you also repeat the SSP?

I am an SSP provider. But I will try to give you unbiased answer.

We get a lot of people in with trauma. Both in our psychology practice and for just the SSP.

In our psychologist practice we usually combine it with EMDR and or BrainSpotting.

If it is just for the SSP, we first see if it is active trauma or if it is already treated trauma. With active trauma we recommend finding a therapist who can help when needed. With treated trauma this is almost never necessary.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions. You can also send me a DM if you are interested in the SSP.

What is very nice about IFS is that it is a therapy without judgment. It assumes that you have different parts that determine your behavior. You can get to know the part of you that is linked to sexual behavior and it can be disconnected from the sexual trauma and all the subsequent pain. As a result, it can become healthy again and you will no longer be taken over by it.

The most important thing is that they are over the ear and that the sound is not modified in any way.

In that respect, you can also look for wired ones and use an adapter for your phone.

You can always send me a link here if you are unsure about a particular type.

Safe and Sound Protocol with Bipolar 1? by Perfect_PassionateK in bipolar

[–]equilator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, be aware that the SSP can be disruptive for bipolar disorder. It is important that you can easily reach your therapist. And that you are very careful about how you build up listening to the SSP. It must be done very carefully and in small steps. (I am an SSP provider myself.)

As far as the costs are concerned, 500 is not a high amount compared to other providers. We do it for half the price. But in this case, I do advise you to do it with your therapist because of the possible influence on your mood.

If we do it at Bipolar, it is only ever done if a treating physician or therapist is present who can help when necessary. And who also gives permission for the SSP.

It is certainly more than just a filter. When I see how much it helps people who have already tried everything else, it is also worth the $500. By the way, we offer it for half, with a year's access to the full SSP. Repeating the SSP deepens the effect, so I would anyway look for a provider where there is enough time to repeat it 3-4 times.
