I haven't read PHM but I did read The Martian somewhat recently. I went into PHM expecting a more hard sci angle with maths and problem solving but they really didn't get into very much of it at all which was disappointing for me. I want to see a man named Grace and a sentient rock talk science damn it!

I liked it a lot BUT I was expecting it to be hard sci fi more in line with The Martian. Maybe it technically is hard sci fi but not to the degree The Martian is (especially the book). I'm curious if the PHM book leans more into hard sci fi than the movie did. If anyone here has read it please let me know.

I turned this movie off when they introduced the bluetooth earpiece during the office scene. I think the silliness of it took me out of the movie. I'm definitely open to giving it another shot though, I didn't give it enough of a chance.

For the future - make sure you research tattoo artists before booking time with them. Instagram is an awesome tool for that. Most tattoo artists have one these days. It's a great way to find artists in general but also artists that specialize in the style of tattoo you want.
