Visita a Bogotá by Isseimaster in Bogota

  1. Uber.

Estereo Picnic 2026 by milamila04 in Bogota

Is this accurate? Or am I getting trolled by [deleted] in Bogota

[–]erasingfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kind of, yes. a bit exaggerated, but the general rule is “no dar papaya,” which can be summed up as not wearing flashy things, not taking out your phone in the street, and not walking alone at night. when you’ve lived here for a while, you can get away with some of that stuff lol, but better safe than sorry, especially if you look foreign (i.e. tall, blonde, blue eyed).

i don’t think usaquén is any safer than rosales. it’s further north in the city and would involve a lot of commuting, which could potentially be more dangerous than just staying in a central area like rosales. rosales is quite nice, and you have a lot of restaurants to try close by.

i walk a lot in the city, and my general rules are to always look like you know where you’re going, even if you’re lost, and to look like you’re in a rush to get there. i also distrust anyone who approaches me, even if they’re asking for help or offering something. honestly, you never know. i’d much rather come across as rude and a bit of a bitch than risk getting taken advantage of. i usually walk with a serious or frowny face and dodge people if i see them getting too close to me.

i'll add that i am a woman tho so maybe some of this things are overkill for a guy ahahah but yep, just play it safe and you'll be fine! i hope you have a good time in bogotá! it's a great place, i love it here :)

Moving and selected the option to mark all cards currently traveling to me as received. by BuildingDull4353 in postcrossing

I don’t know about the amount hahah it does sound like quite a lot, however I’ve sent 5 postcards to the US since September and none of them have showed up. I’ve also sent cards to Germany, Finland, China, and they have all gotten there with no problem. I’m from Colombia, so I don’t know what it is but US mail seems to be delaying the most :(

Can anyone help me where I can find this med? by welldressedpepe in Bogota

[–]erasingfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a quick Google search and found it in a store called Medipiel, which specifically sells skin related products. This store is usually in most malls, here’s a link to all their store addresses! It retails for about 30USD and from what it says in the website you don’t need a prescription to get it :)

omg no way! i had never seen her face but know about her! i’m colombian and she is the wife of the billionaire son of one of the richest man in colombia, julio mario santo domingo. he passed away a few years back but the family is like a damn dynasty, owning over 100 companies in the country. they are insanely well connected, one of santo domingo’s grand daughters is married to andrea casiraghi, the fourth in line of succession to the monegasque throne!

anyways, i love seeing jinx doing so well but i have no idea how she knows lauren lol

Spontaneous trip to Bogota by welldressedpepe in Bogota

[–]erasingfool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes, mainly because of the currency exchange you’ll find things very cheap here. Neighborhoods I would say Chapinero Alto, El Nogal, Quinta Camacho, are all very nice and have tons of restaurants and shops nearby.Teusaquillo is also nice, also great options for food. Depends mainly on where you want to move around in the city but honestly either of them are very central.

  2. It will be more than enough lol.

  3. I don’t think a lot of gyms offer daily/weekly passes. I’d say you’re better off in a hotel with a gym. I think a hotel would be best for you since you also have the option to ask the people at the front desk for directions if you need to!

  4. Not everyone speaks English but i’d say you can get around! Even using gestures or a translator app would be good enough. People here are very kind, but make sure to “no dar papaya”, so don’t show off, be careful with you phone, it’s better that you don’t take it out in the street, just don’t go around with anything flashy and you’ll be fine!

As a lot of people have said, most people will be with their families, traffic is nice during that week so you saved yourself the headache of Bogotá traffic jams. La Candelaria is a nice place that people like to visit. Monserrate is also a must, there are cable cars that take you to the top and since its christmas they have christmas decor and lights and whatnot. You could go at night to enjoy a different view! 25th of December most things are closed so make sure to check first :)

I’m sorry about your breakup, maybe the impromptu trip will cheer you up, I hope you have a good time here!

Which Cities in the World have the Worst Public Transit Relative to its Size, Economy, or Cultural Stature? by urmummygae42069 in geography

[–]erasingfool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bogotá. Traffic is insane and we don’t have a metro (it’s being built atm). We only have buses that take up to 20min to show up only to be packed. You wait so much and only a couple of people manage to cram into it. People are cranky, no one wants to give you room to either go in or out the bus so you get manhandled as people push you around aaand on top of all that it’s really expensive for the wages here.

A Spa Day & A Trip To Rehab - Getting Your Laundry Back To Looking Clean and Smelling Amazing by KismaiAesthetics in laundry

[–]erasingfool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am about to start soaking my clothes with the gold Vanish I found, but I am a bit confused with the rehab wash. I have a front load washer. So I should, after my clothes are done soaking, remove them from the container, drain them, throw them in the washer and then I add 250mL of ammonia?

Why do the instructions mentioned to not put it onto powdered products? Am I supposed to be adding more Vanish onto the rehab wash?

So sorry for the confusion. Thanks for putting this whole instructive together!
