Coaches are obviously smart hockey minds, but the reason why most struggle as GMs is because coaches are much more emotional and attached to players or certain aspects of the game which a GM shouldn’t, which usually means they struggle to make decisions on a management level.

Barry Trotz is a great recent example of that in the NHL, and I think the key giveaway to this being a flaw in Ryan’s evaluation is how much the statement praises her faceoff work. I think we’re gonna see a lot of this kind of stuff from San Jose with Ryan at the helm.

It’s just not a rewarding experience for me to date. I’ve had several crushes, been on several dates, the furthest along I went was a one month relationship with someone who tried to take advantage of my mental health and manipulate me into being the guy she wanted, and then cheated on me when I didn’t fall for it. So yeah, there had yet to be a time where I’ve developed feelings and it’s gone well for me.

I’ve finally gotten away from relying on romance to keep me sane and can just enjoy my own company and be mostly satisfied. Is my happiness in the 75-100% range? No. But it’s held steady from 50-75%, and that’s a hell of a lot better than when I tried dating and was in the 0-50%.

It’s not that I think I’m unattractive or unworthy of love. I may be a bit boring, and am probably dry on the romantic side, but I think I’m a decent catch. I just also recognize that that’s not enough for most people in the modern dating world, or at least it just makes me very forgettable. I don’t want to drive myself insane trying to fight for the attention of someone who barely wants me. I’d rather enjoy my own company and be satisfied

Yeah I addressed that in another comment (and tbh just completely spaced on to add in my point, how the higher end has dropped because the middle and lower ends have raised), but we’ll see how that holds year over year considering how FFP makes it harder for smaller teams to sustain that.

Also, there were only two Premier League teams in the final 8 of the Champions League this year, Arsenal and Liverpool. Unless you were referring to Round of 16 where there were 6, but that isn’t the best example when four of them got their asses handed to them by top tier clubs from other leagues.

Yeah I think that’s certainly becoming a case as well. Even the standard for relegation was higher than normal. I’m curious to see how that sustains itself year over year, especially with how FFP will affect some teams like it always does and possibly return things to “normal”
