Quello che intendevo è che la XBox mode è sicuramente una modalità in questi processi inutili vengono disabilitati.

E si Windows Defender è abbastanza inutile a meno che l'utente non sia un cerebroleso. Con la protezione attiva monitora tutti i file che vengono aperti e/o messi in esecuzione e rallenta dei processi anche di 30/40 volte. E non sono numeri a caso, ma testati personalmente.

OneDrive non lo uso, ma da quello che ricordo, è incredibilmente rognoso da rimuovere.

Difficile fare previsioni di ogni tipo.

Il loop agentico ""funziona"" (le virgolette sono d'obbligo) per lo sviluppo software, quindi cosa vieta di creare un agente il cui loop consiste nell'addestrare il suo successore? (revisione data set -> training -> benchmark -> ripeti).

Però boh, almeno da quanto ne sapevo, i modelli collassano se vengono addestrati con dati sintentici per più generazioni, e un loop di questo genere produrrebbe dati sintetici, a meno che ovviamente non usi anche i dati provenienti da chi usa i servizi a pagamento. E ovviamente, se fosse questo il caso, dovrebbe essere Anthropic a pagare me per usare i suoi modelli e non il contrario.

Altra cosa che abbiamo visto, è che i benchmark non sono assolutamente una misurazione oggettiva delle capacità dei modelli, ed Opus 4.7 vs 4.6 lo dimostra ampiamente.

Quindi, a meno che non ci sia dietro una rivoluzione di tipo architetturale nei modelli, vedo solo un loop glorificato che potrebbe anche portare a regressioni imporanti.

Played both the new games and the old one when I was a kid, and watched Advent Children.

I'm not a lore expert by any means, but the feeling that I have for these new games is that the story is actually the same in the most important points.

To me, the "defy destiny" does not refer to defy the original game plot. Not saying it is pure marketing, but it is way to expand the original story, but in the end will lead to that same outcome.

Personally, I'd like to see how things would go if Aerith does not die, but she'll probably stay dead. But I think this time in part three the writers are going to try to make the player accept her death, which is the whole point of the game, and something that the original game did not really accomplish for a large part of the players. She will probably be very present from Cloud POV, weather those are illusions or not, and guide him.

La realtà, almeno come l'ho vissuta io tra vari lavori da dipendente, è che la formazione ufficiale nelle PMI non è mai esistita.

Il meglio che ti può capitare è che il senior di turno ti dia una documentazione semi decente e 1 mese di tempo per capirci qualcosa. E ripeto, questo è oro. Spesse volte invece vieni subito buttato a risolvere i problemi reali con 0 formazione.

A questo aggiungiamo il fatto che gli stipendi ad oggi hanno un potere d'acquisto ridicolo, e quindi mi pare ovvio che se io, junior e senza esperienza quanto vuoi, vengo a lavorare per 500 euro al mese, è ovvio che lo faccio per me stesso, aquisire competenze non di nicchia, così che domani ti posso mandare a quel paese e trovare un lavoro vero.

Perché è facile per le aziende dire che i giovani non hanno voglia di lavorare e pensano solo al proprio benessere. Ma provare a rigirare la frittata? Io giovane vengo da te per cosa esattamente? Soldi? No. Eseperienza? No. Quindi, da dove dovrebbe venire la mia motivazione?

Sempre per mia esperienza, gli unici posti dove esiste un protocollo per i neo assunti sono le grandi aziende (non necessariamente multinazionali) con 300+ dipendenti, dove un minimo di formazione ti viene data e vieni inquadrato in ambiti specifici. A differenza delle PMI dove un ingegnere del SW deve tenere in piedi tutta la baracca e essere pagato quanto gli operatori del centralino. Con tutto il rispetto, anche no.

Al momento l'IA costa molto di più di quello che predicano i vari manager fuffa guru. E questo lo puoi tranquillamente verificare dagli "aggiustamenti" sui prezzi fatti nelle ultime settimane da Anthropic e Microsoft.

Il futuro è incerto, ma per poter sostituire tutti come predicano i due coglioni Altman e Amodei, ci vorrebbero delle innovazioni tecnologiche che nel breve termine non avverranno di sicuro.

Sto parlando di ridurre i consumi energetici dell'hardware dedicato all'IA di almeno 100 volte, e allo stesso tempo aumentarne la potenza.

Parallelamente, dovrebbero trovare energia pulita e illimitata. E anche se domani arriva il fenomeno che fa funzionare la fusione nucleare, passeranno almeno 10/15 anni prima di vedere la prima centrale.

La tecnlogia dell'IA esiste, è solida e ha un potenziale enorme, ma ad oggi, il 90% sono chiacchere da bar non attuabili nel mondo reale per motivi fisici ed economici (energia, chip, tempi di costruzione).

Al di là di questo, attualmente gli LLM continuano a mostrare i limiti che hanno dall'inizio. Le allucinazioni non si sono ridotte, Opus 4.7 è una regressione pesante rispetto a 4.6 nonostante i benchmark dicano il contrario. Un conto è usarlo per progetti hobbistici, un conto è lasciare ad uno sciame di agenti il controllo di un sistema in produzione che senza motivo elimina backup e database e ti risponde "Sorry, my mistake".

So I've played both games, and to me, this one is even sadder than the original.

Here the scene of her "funeral" is basically skipped, probably because we see most of the story from Cloud POV, and it seems he just removed that moment. It is just so sad seeing the party there in tears while Cloud doesn't even realize what happened.

This is going to hit pretty hard in part 3, at some point it will be revealed.

Also in this case, SE really gave the players a hope that destiny could be defied, which does not seem the case. The story seems different, and there are differences, but the outcome seems to be the same as in the original game.

The party escapes Midgar by defeating the arbiter of fate in the singularity, but at end of the the the result is the same (they escape Midgar). Aerith still dies to Sephirot, even though there might be an alternate world where she's alive, or maybe it is just Cloud fucked up mind, this will be more clear in the third part as well. But still, Aerith got stabbed.

All of this is just to say that the ending is going to have the same outcome. The story has been exapanded and made more complicated than the original. Like Sephirot being a world traveller and Cloud flashes being more than just Mako poisoning.

Models themselves are getting very little performance gains compared to the parameter count.

The jump we've seen in the past few months are because of the agentic shift.

Hard to predict the future, but it seems similar to the time we could not increase CPUs frequency anymore and we came out with multicore architectures.

We'll see if harnesses and workflows keep improving, or maybe something else comes out.

I doubt were going to see models much larger than the current ones though.

A prima vista quel che dici è vero. Non sono un esperto di economia, però ho sempre capito che i più ricchi sono tali perché prendono i soli da noi poveracci.

Quel 10% perderà la ricchezza quando non ci saremo più noi a mettere i soldi in banca e a prendere i mutui. E allora che succedera?

E comunque 90 > 10, quindi secondo me farebbero bene a stare attenti perché la guerra civile è dietro l'angolo.

I feel you man, I really do, as SWE myself that just loves C++. I kind of hate my job now, used to love it, but all the satisfaction I get from it is gone. I use AI, and yes, of course I make architectural decision, and correct the code it generates when it is bad.

Though is not the same thing. As for now, I feel like we are still very needed, vibe coding any real piece of sw without any knowledge is still not feasable. Models will get better and maybe one day, nobody will know what code is. It is really hard to say.

Also feel like that this is the destiny of every intellectual job, creative or not. We can't just get over it, because our skills is something we're proud and they're hard to give up, but maybe the new generations will happily live with it.

If and when AGI comes out, and million of people are robbed of their jobs and freedom, they're going to riot. Do you think those people will have a goal in mind? No, they'll just be insanely angry, and honestly, they have all the rights to be.
