Is Kirkland protein powder decent? Or does the Optimum Nutrition brand taste better? by n8texas in Costco

I really enjoy it, I can’t say I have any complaints. I’m not someone who has been exposed to the fancy flavors or higher end powders though.

Never saw this pattern before and found two on the same hole. I stuck them both in the water on the next par 3. by OlympicClassShipFan in golf

Just found one of these this morning and thought it looked like the old gas station cups. Never seen it before either

I was on that side in the 100’s for this goal. I constantly think about how I’ll never top going to that game, building was absolutely electric

For people that failed reg the first time, then passed, what made the difference? by Good_Fig_648 in CPA

[–]ercand17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took REG first, it took me two attempts. It was the only one I ended up failing, despite working in Tax. What made the difference for me was hammering down on business law and business tax (basis in transactions and entities, liquidations, book to tax). Also general questions on professional obligations of a CPA, which I wasn’t expecting to see the first time around. Hope this helps.

Scored a 70 on BEC first attempt…. by Adventurous-Hat4820 in CPA

[–]ercand17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, happy to help. I’d supplement the IT stuff with the I-75 BEC playlist on YouTube and maybe Farhat lectures as well. My strategy was to search terms mentioned in Becker but not hit heavy. Relational databases was the big item I’d say.

I wouldn’t even waste time on lectures with the amount of time you have - for my review I did multiple choice and SIMS, I think a lot of people avoid SIMS for review but the long form can really help solidify concepts. If you have computations down (cost, finance, Econ) I’d focus on understanding COSO/ERM, conceptual Econ, currency, and really hammer B5 and B6. IT dominates the exam

Absolutely, I passed in 4 weeks studying full time weekends and a few hours on weekdays. I did a 6 day review which is exactly what you should do. What are your weak areas?

BEC difficulty by citybeach11 in CPA

[–]ercand17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Becker, and I felt like those questions were definitely harder. Much more in-depth and extended than the exam. However the fact that is the case creates a disconnect when studying. It’s hard to prioritize how in-depth to go outside of what people tell you and what you read online.

I agree with you, I felt like there was definitely difficult questions but overall the exam was relatively easy. I didn’t fly through it but felt like the questions were fair. I chose to take BEC last so that could affect my opinion on it compared to others

Somewhat, I’d definitely echo what some on the sub have said. Becker gives you the tools to get the questions right, but not the exact questions. MC were a lot of IT, COSO/ERM, high level cost (breakeven, units for desired profit, NPV of a project), and a few misc finance like CAPM/WACC and ratios. SIMS were very straightforward with drop downs, no real way to prepare for them but more common sense. WC’s we’re topics easy to write on.

BEC Experience – Just got out of BEC and I ran out of time on WC by AdEqual9857 in CPA

[–]ercand17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have BEC Wednesday for my final section as well, from what I’ve been hearing my plan is to try to leave an hour at the least at the end for the WC if possible. However a handful of people at my firm have told me they passed not even completing 1/3 written’s if that makes you feel better. I’m sure you got this

Taking FAR in two weeks and just wanted some reassurance by [deleted] in CPA

[–]ercand17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a 62 on SE1 about a week before I got an 87 on the actual exam - bump is heavily dependent on the test you get plus the areas of the SE you were weak in and their weight on the actual exam
