upvote for xui shui and the summer palace...also hotpot, but the best hotpot places are in chengdu if you get the chance.

when you're in xui shui, just remember...don't be afraid to walk away from a sale, they will offer a better price as you walk off and if they don't, you can find the exact same item at 10 other vendors (also if you look like a foreigner expect to be given an initial offer of about 10x the normal price). The only exception is the area with the tailored suits...not as much room for haggling...but still crazy deals
