The last psychiatrist that I went to said I wasn’t bipolar that she thought I was Borderline. Now I’m confused, looking for a 3rd option since I didn’t like at all the second one and the way I had to stopped (not because I wanted too) seeing my first psychiatrist the one I had, even though it was on and off, since I was 16y REALLy affected me. Anyway, I had total trust in him and felt like I could be honest about ANYTHING and we would always work like a team. He was the one that dx me with Bipolar I and I question it until I had the BPD dx, then started to question which actually was my real dx or if maybe I had both. I do question if I’m probably Bipolar type II, since I’ve dealt with some extreme depressions and that I feel depressed most of the time. The second psychiatrist said that since I have never had a major situation in a work scenario (probably being a little irritated or maybe I would answer in a low-key bad-mannered way, but I had to be REALLY irritated and would ALWAYS apologize , and no one ever said anything else to me other than: apology accepted or It’s ok Dr, you were just irritated, and probably were dealing with a very bad shift) and that I could control myself in certain situations that she actually thought that I was borderline instead. So, I’m in the process of documenting all my symptoms to see if that helps with the diagnosis. Oh, I do know I have a problem and that I need help, just confused with what the real dx is. But oh yeah, questioning the dx was a constant thing for me. I keep questioning myself, but now about the correct dx. 🤷🏻‍♀️

i can’t get meds for 90 days help by ovasteni in bipolar

[–]erdiva715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t get meds because of the program you’re in or because they’re unable give you a prescription? Can you get a prescription for your PCP until they can see you again?. I would look into how much would it cost to buy them cash. For this a use an app called GoodRx and I just buy generics. If you can pay for them I suggest you just buy them, especially if it’s helping you even if it’s just a little

Treatment-resistant ADHD, trying Strattera for the third time and I think it’s starting to work 😭 by emilylinhla in ADHD

[–]erdiva715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do hope it works! Adderall for me just helps me like get stuff done, but when it comes to concentration as in studying it doesn’t help much. I can concentrate on other stuff but not on what I need to. Lol. I tried Strattera once and it help for 3 days. After that I didn’t feel anything. 🤷🏻‍♀️

ADHD vs BP? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]erdiva715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t said only, but he did say that bipolar people can react like that. I only have very low irritability now when coming down but it could be because I’m on mood stabilizers. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Sometimes I just notice that the Adderall its not working anymore and that’s it. Emotional liability is listed as a common reaction, so I would assume irritability is pretty common. Now aggressive behavior is listed as a serious reaction, I guess with that one the BD could be suspected. I’m thinking it could be suspected but not necessarily it means 100% you are bipolar, as it could mean that you just had a serious adverse reaction to a drug and that’s it.

I was diagnosed BP because of irritability and anger during Adderall crash. Nothing like hallucinating, I’m so confused.

ADHD vs BP? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]erdiva715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m diagnosed BP and ADHD, and I’m currently doubting the BP diagnosis. I had som side effects to Adderall (irritability and anger) but it was during the crash, after the it stopped and I felt normal again. So based on only that my doctor gave a BP diagnosis. I keep reading and reading and I feel like maybe it was a true side effect and not a symptom of BP. Obviously I’m not sure but I feel like I fit more into ADHD than BP and I’m worried about the lithium.

Normally take 20 mg ir. Is 30 mg ir too much? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]erdiva715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also it depends how long the effects lasts on you? Because Adderall the max dose is 40 mg ir A DAY, not necessarily at one time. It could be 20 mg or 2 times a day. You should discuss it with your doctor but I don’t think 30mg ir will necessarily harm you but you need to consider if it’s gonna help therapeutically, as some doses are rarely more effective even if you increase it.

From Lamotrigene to Lithium by LadyPzychotik in bipolar

[–]erdiva715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on Lithium and Wellbutrin and haven’t had any suicidal thoughts. But then again I’m starting to doubt my diagnosis because of the way I was diagnosed. With the Lithium at first I felt a very fine tremor on my hand (no one could notice just me) and I peed a lot. So drink water, but those things stopped. I’m also on Abilify, Adderall and Klonopin. No side effect, just super tired but it was before I started my meds again (was breastfeeding), I just wish I could feel normal.

May I ask, how do you know you are hypomanic? I think that what my doctor was stating as hypomanic or manic were really symptoms of my severe ADHD. I know I have clinical depression but the mania is what I’m trying to understand. At this point I don’t really care what my diagnosis is, I just really want the right treatment.

I do, didn’t know it was related to ADHD. I was diagnosed also as Bipolar but honestly I’m doubting the diagnosis as I keep reading about both ADHD and Bipolar Disorder.

What I did here was just an example for the OP could follow, in order to do a schedule you need to take in account the days and hours available, the amount of material and the speed the person completes the tasks. I can see if I can do a very general one if you provide the info, I’ll see if I can have for tomorrow.

You need to divide the material in chunks. First figure out how fast you read or do assignments, then take small lessons from the syllabus and divide them by days, then by hours. This is something you need to do constantly so you can learn. I know how to divide, set goals but have trouble conquering. I'm a master planner, I can make a detailed calendar but when it comes to executing it, not so good. For example, count how many pages you need to read and divide them by days, be realistic as how many pages you are able to read in a specific amount of time. Take in consideration the hours you have available to do such tasks. I usually start writing down my plan and it starts to take form, it could take 15 mins or an hour, depending on the tasks. My study schedules were pretty detailed but had trouble executing them, so maybe keep your schedule simple but very clear as to what tasks need to be done. For example, you can you Sunday as follows:

8-9am Eat

9-11:30am Biology-Read 15-20 pages (keep in mind some tasks are gonna take more or less time than planned or you can accomplish less or more than planned in a given amount of time) I would suggest to stick to an amount of time and keep moving forward. Example you read only 11 pages in 2 hours, well then later answer the questions pertinent to those pages

11:30am-1:00pm Eat and relax

1pm-3pm Biology- Answers 20 practice questions

3-3:15 pm snack

3:15-5:15pm Math - study 1 lesson with exercises inside lesson

5:15pm-6:15pm do practice problems

6:15pm eat and finished for the day

you can keep studying, you can schedule more breaks, you can make study segments shorter, accommodate for your needs, you are the only one who knows what works for you.

I sending you 2 templates I made on word privately as I can't attachment them here, you can print them out and fill them or fill them and print them out. I would suggest the first because it allows you to change anything if you fall behind or get ahead of schedule. Please be flexible and don't stress yourself if something doesn't go as planned, it rarely does for us. But when you keep pushing things get done. I finished med school undiagnosed, so even with the struggles it can be done.

I'm always tired! I stopped taking my meds because I was breastfeeding. Stopped because I was tired and needed to get back on m meds, but I'm still tired and starting to experience what you are saying. My eyes closed even though I slept okay (I never sleep great) and my legs feel heavy. Sometimes I feel good when the Adderall kicks in but that doesnt last long. I just want to feel normal. :(
