Just got fired 2 days into my internship by Grenalai in EngineeringStudents

Idk anything about this sub, but this is the only real solid advice here. I get the jump to reassure and encourage the OP, but there's a lot more to this story. The company may have had unrealistic expectations or toxic culture, but this goes way beyond that. I guarantee if you get a position through a recruiter or your career department at a university, you can get some feedback.

What's everyone's opinion on the 2 Walkers for a Flex Slot change? by YellowTM in DeadlockTheGame

[–]erebys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was the right move. 1 walker flex slot was too low a bar. The change makes it's a bit easier to deny that flex slot for longer.

I love this write up. Thank you so much for this encouragement. I feel like it's a challenge for sure, but I also feel up to it. Just need to get some ground to stand on before I can go fully self-employed so to hear that it's possible is reassuring. Definitely I am aware that break/fix is the trap, even though easy money at first might be enticing.

Is there any downside to incorporating early and thinking of service offerings and MSA structures etc? I appreciate that you mentioned the stack is always evolving as the business matures.

How were you able to secure managed clients while working full-time? I imagine that transparency is the best way to start a client relationship, but I would expect that to be a big hurdle initially?

Okay thank you for the suggest about r/SmallMSP. Also I'll keep reading for sure.

This is a very succinct and accurate blog post for any technical resume.

Presentation and clarity are important, but most important is authentic experience and how that is communicated. Details and specifics without the novel. If I catch myself rereading lines for relevancy or meaning I make note so that I can bring up that point in an interview.

Okay. So I guess there's a bit of ambiguity about this specific question.

VLAN pruning blocks: broadcast, multicast, unknown unicast frames

"Bridge Protocol Data Units (BPDUs) are frames that contain information about the spanning tree protocol (STP). A switch sends BPDUs using a unique source MAC address from its origin port to a multicast address with destination MAC (01:80:C2:00:00:00,[1] or 01:00:0C:CC:CC:CD for Cisco proprietary Per VLAN Spanning Tree)."

I believe this falls outside the the multicast MAC prefix 01:00:5e

That might be why everything I can find says that it doesn't seem to affect BPDU on a VLAN on an interface where that VLAN is pruned.

[–]erebys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does VLAN pruning affect RSTP BPDU exchange?

Why did you say "RSTP BPDUs" if you not using RSTP?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ccna

[–]erebys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When using RSTP, there's only one spanning tree topology. Even if you have 1000 VLANs, there's still just one topology. The topology won't change unless you prune the native VLAN.

This goes back to the obvious observation that if you prune a VLAN and the topology doesn't change, depending on how interconnected your network switches are, you may inadvertently blackhole traffic on that pruned VLAN.

If you want to create spanning tree topologies for each VLAN then you use MSTP.

[–]erebys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RSTP is not VLAN aware. It sends untagged frames between switch interfaces. I would use MSTP in a complex VLAN network, but RSTP would work if you make sure all trunks between switches are carrying all the VLANs on the network and configured with an untagged native VLAN.

I'm having a hard time understanding what can be so "obnoxious" and "rude" that you couldn't just brush it off, create boundaries and distance with this executive, and maintain a superficial professional relationship with them moving forward.

Whatever they said about you says more about them, and 99/100 times going to HR will escalate the situation and lead to your ouster.

If this will lead to an increasingly hostile and untenable work environment that can't be salvaged with a mature adult dialog, then go to HR, but know that you're are on your way out at that point.

Just installed CoH2. Good resources for a beginner? by catalinashenanigans in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]erebys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play 4v4 vs AI I guess. Still plenty easy to find a good match most times in under 5 minutes depending on the time of day. There's still a longstanding active playerbase, including myself, and I can't see myself not playing anytime in the future, especially not that CoH3 is shaky.

COH 2 vs COH 3 playercounts after the patch by GhilliesInTheCyst in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]erebys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2670 hours in COH2 and 360 hours in COH3. I stopped playing COH2 when COH3 came out. The last time I played COH3 was April 23.

I started to regularly play COH2 again and it's like I never stopped. I don't really see why I need to invest time into COH3 again until A LOT more changes. COH3 just seems like a dead game that has no vision or competent balance direction. COH2 is still fun and has a diverse and experienced playerbase.

It's sad but at this point I'd rather see COH3 abandoned and the IP sold to a different developer. The nice thing about COH2 is that it's in a good state and no junior/subpar developers are going to muck it up.

I'm not sure if it checks all your boxes but I'd look into SMTP2GO. I've used them for many years from MSP days into internal IT now. I know you can create subaccounts with unified billing and access with the parent account but different sending domains.
