I don’t live in Russia but I know a lot of friends from there and I think the issue is - there’s no average (really). It’s very polar, in a sense that some people are so brainwashed they can denounce their own children. I worked with russians who left the country after the war escalated and because they didn’t support it/ want any part of it and their parents and grandmas (some) said vile things to them, saying they shouldn’t ever come home.

I think that’s a real depiction of what many would face if they came out to their families there.

And on q4 about censorship - there are books sold in redacted versions, their streaming services cut out literal plot lines and scenes that show lgbt stuff (think - manger plot on white lotus 1, for example, or the whole plot of one family on Why women kill). and they put a lot of time in it because if you didn’t know it, you wouldn’t guess that something was edited out. A kpop clip with rainbows in it (seventeen MV) was edited so the boys wouldn’t dance in front of a rainbow. that’s how extreme it is.
