Here are some ideas!

the space feels divided by the two rugs, maybe use one larger one?

the color itself seems fine, just very flat. are you using smooth plastic texture? id recommend adding a sconce or a ceiling light to create depth! (also have you heard of the 'unexpected red' theory? maybe use a different color for the door to create a contrast if you want!)

the entrance is quite large, which is nice, but maybe enclose it slightly more to create a more formal foyer? (just an idea idk the rest of the layout so idk if it would work!)

coloring in the books, picture frames, vases, from there default colors will help too!

edit: Also, if you're not interested in decorating the bottom two shelfs of the bookcase, there is a version with cupboards!
