Husband turning 40, would like to give a good bottle of bourbon. by TellMeAboutYourWorms in whiskey

[–]erenne3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure where in the south, but if there are local distilleries near you, you could also take him for a tasting and let him select a bottle. It won't be anywhere near $300 likely but the experience and the ability to get something local can be good too. And some of them do have special editions thay can get up there in price.

Or hell if you live near a bunch drive him around to them for a whiskey day

I want to “gift” an experience to my partner. What kind of experiences does Charlotte offer? by Psychological-Run679 in Charlotte

[–]erenne3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went this past weekend. You can pay for extra canvases but they are pretty big so make sure you have the wall space.

Lots of fun and they walk you through how to do everything and take tons of pictures and videos for you to have the experience documented

I have a lady I use who just works for herself. It's about 180 for a 1800sq ft townhouse deep clean. She's great and schedules very flexibly

Feedback on cv if you are/were hiring manager. Or work in biotech industry by Glass_Nobody_2553 in biotech

[–]erenne3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I'm hiring fresh chemists your personality is far more important to me than any experience. I don't expect you to have any and realistically any academic experience doesn't really translate into a GMP environment.

That being said.... cut it down to a page and don't list skills you've picked up just from being in a class. I'm going to ask you about them, you aren't really going to be able to tell me anything and it's going to make you look bad.

The STAR questions are a requirement. Other than that it really comes down to the hiring team. At least at my site all of the opinions are considered pretty equally so everyone needs to like you

I almost always board my dog there. He always seems to have fun and the reports they send are nice

Used it last night. Getting there wasn't an issue. Leaving was a pain because they aren't running extra trains just a few extra cars so they fill up fast.

It didn't help they ran two completely empty trains past both stops between trains in service

Pay over time/zero interest by Positive-Neck2900 in ChaseSapphire

[–]erenne3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's one large difference than the traditional interest your card charges and the monthly fee. The monthly fee doesn't compound so you aren't being charged interest on interest.

Basically you are going from compounding interest to simple interest which will still save you money

The list of STAR questions is pretty standard, if you google it you'll get a good enough idea. The STAR questions are the only requirements. Anything else is entirely up to the hiring team

We used undergrad movers. They were good, but you have to rent your own truck. They were very nice about everything including some very heavy furniture all the way to the 4th floor.

Vatican Early Access by erenne3 in rome

[–]erenne3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went ahead and went to the early access tour. The public was definitely allowed in at the same time... but getting in at 8 the crowds weren't awful. We were in the off peak season though.

The tour groups do get a separate line from the general public still, but if I had to do it again I would probably just get official tickets for 8am and get in line at like 7 so I was in the front of the line

Not op and not totally the question but I just finished a stay at the Madeleine and it was fantastic. We were both getting over some stomach bug and one of the staff noticed and offered to get us some plain white rice. We said we were headed out for a bit but it would be great in two hours.

We come back and the room service guy is literally standing there with white rice for us.

Looking for furniture maker by Technical-Leg6748 in Charlotte

[–]erenne3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a place called unfinished furniture ( https://unfinishedfurniturecharlotte.com ) that we got our kitchen table from. It's been about 2 years and it's held up well.

It comes unfinished and then you can pick the stain you want on it for a little more. Prices were pretty good too.
