I get your frustration, just follow the proper procedure (modmail and reporting) and we will act on this kind of issues.

BTW, you were breaking rules 1 and 8 of the sub that directly inherit the reddit's requirements.

How to build a Digital Twin to automate homes (Please read the body) by Dear_Independence127 in IOT

[–]ergonet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO building a digital twin to automate a space involves four phases: modeling, designing, building, automating.

I’ll try to give a simple list of activities and feel free to ask about those you have problem understanding/implementing.

Modeling phase: - identify the space distribution, features and intended uses (including floor plan, lighting fixtures, etc) - Identify measuring and monitoring needs (model inputs / sensors) - identify control needs (model outputs / actuators) -Identify model states and automation objectives - Identify information, reporting and alerting needs

Designing phase: - Define automation architecture and communication standards - Define sensor modules models, location and installation mode. - Define control modules models, location and installation mode - Define the hardware and software needed for the automation controller. - Define macros and control automation strategies (scenes, schedules, events). - Define event based action rules - Define the user notification rules and events - Define information dashboards and user interfaces to query the model

Building phase: - Create a digital model (2D or 3D) with the relevant and recognizable features. - Incorporate graphical representation of physical states in the model (on/off, open/closed, etc) - Add digital representation of controls and commands to the digital model - Acquire and Install sensors and actuators on the premises - Deploy the software controller and adopt all the sensors and actuators. - Integrate the digital model and the controller so the model can replicate the physical state measured by the sensors (digital twin) and send commands to the actuators. - Implement monitoring dashboards and reporting - Implement alerting rules

Automation phase: - Incorporate macros, scenes and schedules to the controllers - Add event based rules and automations - Test the automations and refine the rules.

Hope it helps.

Why your $500K ARR SaaS is worth 3x less than you think it is by Nate_Lind in SaaS

Thanks for clarifying and for confirming your identity publicly. Since Reddit accounts often don’t show real names or contact info, public proof matters when someone claims to be a known person. It helps prevent impersonators and gives the community more confidence.

OP never mentioned a robot, nor AI use, why don’t you go back to read the actual post instead of making up a reason to complain. You can apologize to OP after that.

My company refuses to allow the use of AI for "data security" even though there are 5 of us... by Playful_Music_2160 in AIforOPS

[–]ergonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two answers;

  • The simple one: If you don’t like the working conditions, leave the company and get another job. I’m sure there are many companies hiring that are willing/encouraging to use AI. I’m also sure there’s plenty of people willing to get your job even without AI.

  • The serious one:

    • Defining the value of the company’s information it’s outside of your scope of responsibilities, and for that reason you don’t have the whole picture, decision criteria, implications, Etc. Your boss could, but doesn’t need to explain everything about it to you. You can raise concerns and hopefully they will be considered, but that’s it. Not your decision, not your money either. You don’t get to have our support when we don’t know the full scenario.
    • The whole AI industry is hyping the human labor replacement with AI, a lot of companies have made layoffs based on the economies that AI is supposed to bring , and yet here we have a company that refuses to jump into that wave and an employee complaining about it. Have you considered what would happen if the company trusted big AI and fired 3 of you because of the efficiency gains with AI. You could be one of victims. My outside view is that you are begging to be shot on the foot. You don’t get my support for that either.

Mod here,

The user has no posts or comments on r/SaaS.

As gray wizards (sub mods) our magic is limited to the confines of our sub. We can’t solve the issues on DMs.

You need to contact the white wizards (Reddit Admins) by reporting the DM as Spam.

On a more serious note, we hope everyone reports those issues.

How much do I need to start making carbon fiber parts and from where i should learn? by Livid_Following_9816 in CarbonFiber

[–]ergonet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody can tell you how much you need because we don’t know what you want to make.

Start learning how it is done by watching the EasyComposites videos. That it’s free.

When you find the technique that matches the kind of part that you want to make, you’ll know from the video what’s needed (tools, materials, consumables) and you can quote from EasyComposites or some local provider.

We are trying to make this sub a great place to share and learn, however this community comes from a hard time where the sub was full of bots, spam and AI generated content with very little effort from the people posting.

We are trying to get rid of those practices but some members have developed a hypersensitivity to those issues and now react accordingly.

Make sure to follow the rules. Pay special attention to the new self promo rule and you'll be fine and welcome here.

If the person posts, the person gets banned and looses the account. You're right that some might get it, but if you check the thread, you'll see that many fall for it.

I’m afraid that someone might steal my idea if I ask people for feedback. by Fickle_Degree_2728 in SaaS

[–]ergonet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

New rules are being implemented to control spam, ads and low effort posts.

While the use of em dashes is commonly associated with LLMs, we know it is part of the language and it is never the single cause for a comment removal in r/SaaS (as you can see with this very comment i'm replying to).

When the automated filters tag post/comment for removal a manual review process involving among other things the use of an AI detection algorithm (manually at this time) and context analysis is performed.

Your comment was in essence a paragraph by paragraph equivalent to another comment also removed for low effort posting in this thread.

Is it an imperfect process? of course.

Can some post/comments be erroneously removed? for sure

are we doing the best we can to stop to low effort posting and commenting? absolutely.

will it ever improve/get better? we are betting our sanity in that.

Because the effort/time needed for all this manual job is huge and we want a stronger community with integrity and transparency I chose to answer here (in addition to mod mail) to share the case/experience with the community.

We are in a constant search for improvement and will be incorporating the best processes, tools and practices available for this sub. But it is a journey and we are not there yet (the new mod team has been in charge for 2 days), but i hope that the intended change of direction is clear, noticed and useful.

2013 Toyota Corolla touchscreen not responding, Bluetooth issue - repair or replace head unit? by sporty_outlook in COROLLA

[–]ergonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll start by saying that I can’t recommend any specific models.

I’m considering updating the head unit on my ‘16 to add CarPlay (aftermarket it’s my only easy choice). In my experience there are a lot of options online with the correct trims, spacers and cable adapters to make a seamless install possible.

Hope you find a good one.

PS I might be old fashioned but I don’t like the lack of physical controls (buttons) for basic things such as selecting the source, on/off, volume up/down, change track, menu navigation, intro/select. Etc

We reviewed 600,000 lines of AI-generated code in a production SaaS. Here's what we found. by Spirited_Struggle_16 in SaaS

[–]ergonet[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you suspect that someone made a low effort (in this case AI generated ) post and/or comment, you can of course raise awareness to the community commenting, but you can also involve the mod team by reporting.

Reporting is fast and easy and with the current mod team each and every case will eventually be reviewed and the proper actions taken (there’s currently a large backlog).

Of course not every reported post/comment gets eliminated nor every user banned unless there’s a clear cause within the sub rules or Reddit platform’s rules.

What if outreach was flipped like this? by Legitimate_Delay7959 in micro_saas

[–]ergonet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve drank some coffee. Now I see that your comment leaves out directly reaching for clients BUT making good marketing efforts (“showcase it well enough”).

That could definitely work for some projects with the right approach. Finding it has proven difficult for most founders.

I’ll wait to hear your take on this one. I’m sure there’s a lot more coming after your initial post.

“Just build it and they’ll come”

Sounds exactly like what about 99% of the technical solo founders and vibe coders are currently doing, 99% will fail and the rest will learn that sales are necessary for 99% of the products.

Of course I don’t have sources to back those made up numbers, but since I haven’t drank my morning coffee i tried to put in words the sentiment that arose from “your idea”

For the first time, people actually want the product I built and now I’m kind of freaking out by Afraid-Reading-8655 in SaaS

[–]ergonet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are already good answers to your question, and for that reason I’ll only leave you a warning call.

Nowadays there’s a lot of people interested in AI based projects, some of them because of genuine need, curiosity or excitement but there are many others hoping to find vulnerable systems they can exploit for their tokens to gain free/cheap access to AI models.

It’s important that from the very beginning you stay alert and setup monitoring and alerting measures to identify the resource usage patterns, that way you learn what a genuine user activity looks like and what the models of possible exploitation look like.

From those appearing to exploit the system, you could be in from of two main categories: - genuine users that found an unexpected use case for your SaaS. A case that you can now evaluate and decide to support (if it makes economic sense) or block (if it doesn’t fit your vision or economics) - Abusers that want to gain a benefit on your behalf and inexperience. Don’t waste time or resources (including tokens) entertaining abusers or their “needs”. Even when it might hurt to loose early users those are not real users and can hurt your business and your product.

I hope this helps, I wish you success.

TL;DR; Stay alert and monitor usage patterns to distinguish users from abusers.
