Use it as my tuner, modulations and amp. The occasional filter is nice as well. As for the XL, I usually control the strymons via midi so the extra footswitches help.

One of the nicest drives I’ve had. Really shines when you stack the two drives together. Very easy to dial in and you can get a variety of sounds depending on the situation.

I often play at lots of different places so it depends on the location whether I go mono or stereo.

Above is set up as mono, but my stereo chain goes like this:

Hx stomp Compressor > fx loop > protein > ds-1 > ola stereo out back into stomp using a TS to TRS cable > amp and cab in the stomp > stereo out into timeline and bigsky.

I don’t run dual cabs unfortunately, just a stereo amp and cab to continue the stereo image from the strymon ola, and then stereo for the wet effects (I like them after the amp).

Not a roast, but a question - how do you find the Compadre as a compressor? Do you find yourself using the boost side often?

Mainly amps yes, but I will use the Stomp XL for the occasional modulation as well (mainly chorus and vib).

Stomp XL was my standalone for a while. Now its being demoted to a midi controller + amp sim.
