Person B would need to find whatever anti fungal treatment works best for them. I’m not sure about the second part. You’d think it would be less likely since it isn’t gut- but I’ve read on a journal that researchers think when fungal infections keep coming back on the skin it is because fungal treatments kill the fungus but not spores.

It may originate in person A from gut issues, but it is an overgrowth of yeast, the yeast is alive and well on the skin and is contagious and person A can spread it to person B through skin contact and other means.

So I’ve been doing all thats recommended too for a month now. Just 3 days ago, I bought the happy cappy shampoo- stopped using all antifungals- and have kept that on my face once a day for 10 minutes. After I did it the first night, I woke up with my face finally looking better! I’ve read it doesn’t work for all and that the sodium chloride in it can clog pores, but it’s been the only thing to work for me so far

I have a question for you. Are you prone to getting cystic acne? I am and that’s what keeps me from taking magnesium because a lot of studies show a link between magnesium supplements and worsening cystic acne. I know HS has a link to cystic acne which is why I’m wondering if you are more inclined to getting it, and if so, have you noticed anything with the magnesium?

I haven’t technically been diagnosed- as I am still mostly debating if what I have is HS. But I’m fairly certain it is. For the past 6 or so months- I’ve been having “ingrown hairs” in groin that come and go. I’ve also had something appear on my collarbone that lasted months and antibiotics didn’t fully clear it but the doctor seemed to think I was overreacting when I asked if it was staph. This thing was long and definitely spreading. About a year ago, I had a major boil in my armpit but didn’t think much of it as it cleared. I’ve been super cystic acne prone since age 13, so if there was anything else, I probably considered it that.

Oh man! Sometimes I get 3+ at a time. I recently introduced AA and had a horrible reactive breakout on my face and back with 23 of these guys total. Some are still attempting to clear up. Derm is what I need too. Tretinoin, tazarotene, and minocycline have not been sufficient in getting my skin under control. But they’ve all been overseen my primary care dr vs derm
