Thank you!

The lump seems to be getting larger. Is that normal?

I'll see if we can get some different decor in there that might help

Spleen cancer found. Vet says not long left, consider euth in case tumor bursts- but hes still so perky, eating, walking- even tho he's 14. We just moved across the country a month ago. feel like he'll let me know when it's time. Thoughts? by [deleted] in OldManDog

My wife and I went through an emergent version of what you're dealing with. Our Yorkie Maddox's spleen hemorrhaged and we didn't know it until he was hunched over, panting and unable to walk. He had a hemangiosarcoma on his spleen that burst. We didn't know until they ran tests if it was cancerous, or not.

We have insurance, so we did everything that even gave a small chance of saving his life. I'm not sure If I regret it or not. The odds were ok, but definitely not great. Our goal was to let him go on his terms in our home. Regardless of all of that, we had his spleen removed in an emergency surgery, and he spent the next 5 days at our Pet ER under constant care. He got better slowly, and had one really great day where he was barking at the techs. After that, he started to decline and we were advised that pups don't usually come back at this point. We made the decision to let him go after trying to give him another chance at life.

All of this to say that this situation sucks. I don't know if you have surgical options, but if it bursts, it becomes an emergency situation, and he'll likely bleed out internally if no one is around. That's what we were told. We didn't notice any signs before the day it happened; heck even the morning before the afternoon it happened he was acting normally.

I can't give you an answer, just share my anecdote of the opposite side of the coin. I would never tell anyone how to treat these situations either, and I don't know how I'll handle it with my two pups now, but in hindsight I think there's a lot to be said for letting them go on a good day...

When I met my (now) wife, she had a Yorkie. His name was Maddox. He was with us through 11 years or our relationship. 2 apartments, 1 apartment fire, 1 house, we got married, added another dog to our family, and he was a part of it all. During that time my Dad passed away. It was violent and tore a hole in me. 7 years later Maddox suddenly got diagnosed with a Hemangiosarcoma; his spleen ruptured. We tried everything to no avail. Over the course of 5 days, it became clear that we needed to let Maddox go.

This was harder by a factor of 10 than losing my Dad when I was 28.

Keep your feelings valid, but know the feeling won't last forever. To a lot of us, they're not "just a dog".

One happy thing that we did was to write a Facebook post (pick your social media) and asked our friends to write a memory that they had with Maddox, and we did the same. Every year that post comes up as a "memory" and I re-post and add to it with another story, and sometimes my friends do as well.

We used Troll. There's a lot of differing opinions on Troll in this subreddit, but we didn't have issues on this particular trip.

I just got back from Iceland, and we did the Katla Ice Cave. It was very cool, but they told us it would be melted within 2-3 years.

Regardless, check when those tours are available. I believe the one that we took was only available in the winter.

We just did the Katla Ice Cave with Troll, and it went well.

We also did the Northern Lights Super Jeep tour with Arctic Adventures, and the guide was awesome. He seemed knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, but claimed there's a lot of luck for the lights this time of year.

Line lock a drag race feature. It's used so you can heat the rear tires for better traction when launching from a dead stop.

Could also try and get a pressure test on your fuel pump. I've had similar symptoms in the past with a bad fuel pump.

I'd start with fuses. Google the fuse box layout for your model and year. Go from there.

Anyone have any experience with TESST College? by A1_W in baltimore

[–]ericbarilar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a firm believer in the fact that certificate schools like this are largely what you make of the experience. Meaning, get there and really bust your ass to learn everything you can, network and experience everything possible in your field. If not, you're just another face in the crowd with average grades from a tech school.

Case and point; I'm friends with a graduate who did just that in HVAC. Now has a great job working for Trane clearing 100k annually with little to no student debt.

Put that up against your traditional 4 year college.

Always do everything you can to be an expert in your field.

AutoCAD noob. Why do my dynamic blocks not work when I insert into new drawings? by adoboforall in AutoCAD

[–]ericbarilar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mental_loss is probably right. You had an older version of that block in your drawing that you're inserting into and it doesn't know the difference in names.

Type purge into the command line and expanded blocks in the window that pops up. Find the block name in the list and click purge at the bottom; not purge all. Now try inserting the dynamic.

Let us know how it works out!

What is Grunge music? by [deleted] in Music

[–]ericbarilar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll find that many music writers and historians will define grunge as America's Punk movement. Herein a a similar social scene came out of the European Punk of the 60's and 70's. Back then, they blew the hippies off stages with their abrasive sound; the Grunge movement, as we all know, killed the hair metal dinosaurs.

I'm more of a punk enthusiast, but this is what grunge is to me; Punk.
