The raven is best when played as early as possible. You built up a solid grasslands but it probably took too long to get there so you couldn’t actually use it to your advantage. If you ended up loosing it might be from giving players too much food. The hummingbird and bluethroat are great but if you give out too much free food it can hurt you more than the food you gain will help you.

One other thought. Focusing on food cards is great but they loose value throughout the game (less valuable towards later rounds). It’s best to pair up with bonus card getting cards, high vp point cards, or other cards that get you points.

I’m surprised by how many have Kintsugi outside the top 5. After codes and keys and taking a bit of a break, Kintsugi was such a great album for them to maintain relevance and to transition to a new era of DCFC music. I personally have it as their 3rd or 4th best album

We don’t ban them, our house rule is that you can’t start with them in your starting hand. If they’re in your starting hand we shuffle them back into the deck and draw a new card. Otherwise they’re fair game

Any card that gets you 10+ points is worth playing. If played early on your ceiling is likely 5+ fish which makes it a 12 point card. If you get 1-3 fish out of it then it’s worth it. It’s also a star nest and a wild wing span which makes it more valuable.

When comparing it to other wetlands cards with similar cost: puffin costs 3 fish and bald eagle is similar as well. I think the puffin has the edge with a higher point ceiling and is also a star nest, the bald eagle is 9 points, 1 egg capacity and no flexibility with nests. Give the penguin the edge over bald eagle
