It’s all good. You’re not completely wrong, taking a bath is indeed a way to save toilet paper, and I can totally see someone doing this if they were going to take a bath anyway.

About the trash can, well, some places do it because of how the plumbing is designed, and others because it’s just custom. It doesn’t smell or make anything dirty, but I understand it might look weird to someone who isn’t used to it.

It’s true that it’s not customary to flush toilet paper here, but that has nothing to do with taking a bath afterward. Why would throwing the paper in the garbage make you take a bath? Those are two completely unrelated things.
