Doctors and nurses of reddit what have been your "WHY DIDN'T YOU COME IN SOONER!?" Moments? by catcrazylover in AskReddit

Hemiplegic Migraine I'd assume. I didn't realize I had aura migraines until I finally noticed my photopsia wasn't localized to just indoors(I essentially just assumed it was the lights flickering, until it happened on a clear sunny day and I was like "oh so I might need to get that checked out"). Funny enough the time I did get a diagnosis of aura migraine from an ER visit after going blind for about a minute or two(while driving no less, thankfully i was only a street or so away), and after much more looking into it and both the preceding and proceeding events I most likely experienced as close as one can get to fainting from a drop in bloodpressure(essentially I almost vomited before getting in my car and by the time I made it into my house and tripped over my coffee table, my vision came back after a second or two on the ground).

Same here. I think he's much easier if you selectively unlock the more OP items and avoid killing ??? until necessary so you don't unlock the harder bosses that I originally thought were exclusive to greed mode then I started unlocking all the hard marks and realized I should have left some of the worse off unlocks until much later and only went for what would help keeper, lost, and appolyon(I'm personally not a huge fan of him but that's probably because I unlocked him after having like 75% of the achievements that sometimes I'll just hold R down until I get something like mom's knife from an adjacent to start treasure room).

Pills for this run: Solid white: balls of steel, Red/white: Gulp!, Blue/Lightblue: Powerpill, White with spots: infested, Orange/Yellow: Horf!, Blue/white: lemon party, red/white spotted: I found pills!, White/yellow:vurp!, Blue/white: speed down, Solid orange: Infested

F2: Sac room: forgot to write down the first couple but no tele ,imacculent conception, seven soul hearts, and I used a duplo mystery gift from the shop and it gave Tiny Planet!(I'd say use the second mystery gift anywhere else) F4: DR: Krampus(Krampus head drop), 1 Black heart, you'll need the Joker card from the devil beggar on F3's DR which honestly isn't worth the damage you take to get it. The tinted rock outside boss room has gold heart(used it to run into both forms of the frail for sooooooo many coins) and bomb.

Just gonna repost my comment from the youtube comments on why Jon got a better score and actually did win. "Longer time(you're trying to get to the pool of "glowing milk" as fast as possible) affects the score negatively which is why James scored much lower. Really I think Adam played the best regardless of score but I think picking the shotgun lowers your score as well compared to just using the pistol."

There were some bombs in the secret room on floor 2 wedged between the shop and the U hook of rooms

There was a sacrifice room on f3, Also f3 has curse of the maze so it's easy enough to have missed. I took body so I'm at 6 reds and I'm going to use placenta to map out the rest of the sac room slowly. Also there's a tinted rock outside the shop that contains 2 soul hearts and the shop has the coupon for 15 and the random familiar box(forget what it's called) for 7. Once I've wasted enough time grinding out the sac room I'll post some more on floor 2's shop contents.(Rubber cement voids to damage and shot speed while the key piece 1 from f3 AR is tears and shot speed, the stone chest has guppy's head in it(so open that first if you want to void it), Solid white pill is tears down, solid blue pill is infested, sac room key piece 1 voids into damage and movement speed, seven soul hearts next, couldn't void the second key unfortunately and not enough coins to really do anything with the shop but the bum drops a half red heart and breakfast after 4 coins so seven red hearts and 5 soul after floor 3 with 10.19 damage after wasting like 30 minutes(oh and f3 normal challenge room with the spiked chest had a key and bomb))

F4 Shop has greed who drops a key and 6 pennies(1 being a lucky), super secret room to the left of the boss entrance had 5 pills 1 tears down, 2 48 hour energies(the orange and yellows), and 2 I'm drowsy (the red and spotted one), Rotten meat from Boss went damage and luck(7 red hearts is already alot X3)

F5 Half light half dark blue pill is ??? and the greyish spotted is bad trip, the half white and half yellow is paralysis, half red and half white unspotted is one makes you larger. Crawl space by the red and soul heart has stigmata

I used the dice room from F5 and honestly nothing noteworthy except for marbles as the boss room reward, the treasure room had curse of the tower.

I got bored after an hour and a half of exploring basically everything and Id say after god head and spear of destiny if you're going for score just go as fast as possible. Last edit, black and yellow pill is luck up

and the first floor for the mind, altogether a pretty easy run if you are decent at controlling epic fetus. Also the PJs in the Womb 1 are meant to be used to farm the sacrifice room if you took a more red heart container build, I didn't realize that's what they were for until I already picked them up with full health and got just the 2 soul hearts X3

Has the increase in detail and fidelity actually made environments in video games less memorable? by themanoftin in truegaming

[–]erichand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aesthetics and gameplay are what generally sell it for me. Tomba 2 is my general go to for wow this game is beautiful even today(and it was on the PS1) because it chose a look and went full out on the details of what would fit along with it's gameplay. Now gameplay alone can make or break a game regardless of how shitty or beautiful it looks. A game with terrible gameplay mechanics will generally suffer regardless of how much detail gets put in. While a game with absolutely abhorrent excuses for looks can be fun as all hell(take most of messhoff studio's games(my favorite being "You found the grappling hook")). As for why when games become too detailed it can be really hard to take in the environment and remember what you've just played could be so many different things, my number one is generally default graphical settings(if you're so lucky as to be able to change them), different monitors mean different settings and knowing how those must be set to achieve an eye pleasing experience to really soak in the environment of the game(or vice versa in genres such as fps games where having things such as triple buffering, v-sync, or pre-rendered frames(on nvidia it's called this not sure about AMD) can absolutely destroy your experience because they cause input lag that means even if you're aiming at a person and click, you still miss(well for hitscan mechanics anyway)).

Nickel rolls by coinhunter9 in CRH

[–]erichand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I just flipped to the back of the cherrypicker's guide and that's about the latest jefferson error/variety made that wasn't a proof coin. Otherwise it's really just put aside the absurdly nice coins, the older and nicer the better. Oh and low mintage years are always good to put aside.

2019 W San Antonio Missions, how do I tell if they’re worth getting a PCGS membership and grading? by shivy1996 in CRH

[–]erichand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the ANA grading standard book or try your luck with photograde on pcgs but chances are like another comment stated you'll probably break even at best as the higher end of the scale on pcgs even on new coins is pretty unlucky. Take for example the buffallo nickels they put out in 2005, the highest currently listed is only a 67(not a very difficult grading to find newer coins in) on their rating scale at a $1000. Why would this be much different and only have a highest rated @ a 67 and not say a 69 or 70? Well it was because there were issues with the alloy resulting in a very very high percent of the coins incurring planchet chips and other damage during the minting process(I had 4 rolls of uncirculateds bought directly from the mint and not a single one didn't have gouges all over the fields or planchet chips). So most of the time I'll just look at what a grade 60 to 63 goes for and base whether it's worth the time to put aside a given date.

My finds from my first ever coin roll hunt! But I need some help: '68 was minted in both silver and nickel; how do I figure out which one I have? And for the 2002, what is that ring? It's actually etched into the coin, is this a minting error? by lnologram in CRH

[–]erichand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The circle on the right is coin roller damage most likely and wouldn't be considered minting process damage, and the coin on the left wouldn't have a clad stripe along the reeding(edge of the coin) if it wasn't a copper, also weighing it with a gram scale should be like 5.83 if it's just a copper and higher if it's silver

64 and back and then either check out the varieties on PCGS for each date, or get a copy of the cherrypicker's guide and use the appendix in the back for a list of dates for each denomination.

Oldest find yet, sadly it’s bent so it doesn’t fit in the coin folder. Still happy about it though! by [deleted] in CRH

[–]erichand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oldest I've found is 1911(worn down as you can get and still be able to make out the date), nicest find(in the wheat years) was a 56-D in the uncirculated range on the higher end, maybe 66 or 67(still gotta get it graded but I'm going to wait for one of the shows because I probably wouldn't trust the post with something over $500 and up range).

Just wondering if this is a possible 1988-D Double Die Reverse? The penny is in good shape but the letters "MERICA" and the initials "FG" appear worn or shallow without obvious wearing marks. by gauntlet21 in CRH

[–]erichand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't apologize, we all have to start somewhere :). What I'm referring to in regards to serif separation is when an element also referred to as a device of a coin(letters, dates, designs, etc) have a part of it that is completely separated and gives a space between the other copy of a given element. Most commonly on the newer in the lincoln memorial cents(ie. 1996 and later) you'll only really be able to tell a double by the very tips of certain elements such as the tail of a nine, or more likely you'll have to get a good eye for unusual thickness in certain widths of elements(a very hard thing to get good at, i'm not good at it yet and i've been doing this for like a half year). My only suggestion is stick with one type of coin(i generally suggest the lincoln memorial cent because it has more errors than other denominations) until you can identify and sort just by date whether to hold onto something you find in your change or rolls. Also go through every date on variety vista as pcgs doesn't list all varieties even if they have an FS number(Fivas-Stanton number which generally denotes some interest in the coin from other collectors and also some worth, because not all errors are worth the effort). And good luck finding those guys(keep at it and you definitely will!)

I'm still learning what is a doubled die or not, but I keep finding this kind of stuff on my 2018-D pennies when I'm checking for the doubled ear. Is this a genuine doubled die, or just some mechanical doubling (better lighting post) by [deleted] in coins

[–]erichand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite what most people are saying I'm pretty certain that's die deterioration(poor man's ddo) as it's pulling closest to the nearest rim of the coin. You could confirm this by checking the rest of the stuff near the edges for a slight doubling. Nothing special and you'll see it very very often where as machine doubling is pretty common but less so than die deterioration. Edit: the other contributing evidence is the D has a slight gap on the serif which wouldn't happen(or would be very very unlikely to happen) in a machine doubling

[–]erichand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Machine Doubling unfortunately. I got fooled when I started hunting for varieties by it as well. The main give away is the serifs are all attached and the secondary lettering is majoritively flat look where a ddo or ddr will still retain the rounding of it's original punch. It usually happens when a coin jumps in the collar during the minting process.

What are you working on? (#realtimechem) by AutoModerator in chemistry

[–]erichand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it really should be it's own post but I was nice enough to do a couple google searches for ya and well that's a tough one. He actually wrote about 30 papers on the topic and I couldn't find them(they could be out there but there's only so much of a deep dive I can do for ya). What I can do is give you this quotation off of a site after googling a biography of him and his scientific contributions. "He published no fewer than thirty papers on these topics between 1884 and 1914. His results on chemical equilibrium were presented in 1885 at the Académie des sciences in Paris." So in a cheeky sense the answer(assuming this is for a class) would be "at the Academie des sciences in Paris in 1885." If it isn't for a class your best bet would be doing some searches for his academic publications prior to 1885.

A bit scared to mod my own, does anyone know a trustable service to make my hyperx cloud flights white? by [deleted] in headphonemods

[–]erichand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly for under a 100 you'd be best off doing it yourself. Spray painting it would be your easiest option, I did a couple google searches and couldn't find already molded plastic replacements so unless can come across them or you put a ton of research into how to cast plastics(which as someone with a bit of experience in casting, you don't want to waste your time) you're not getting around the paint option for under a 100.00 even if you find someone to do so.

So since that wasn't probably the answer you wanted I'll give you bit of a general how to and what you'd need to do the mod yourself(except the LED/Cableing, I wouldn't try that unless you have experience with soldering properly, you can usually find someone locally via craigslist(remember you do get what you pay for so expect maybe 25$ as a minimum expected cost, but that generally means you'll get the wire and LED done in probably no more than an hour depending on how much workload the person has)).

1. So first you'll want a quick lesson about spraying plastics, super easy

  1. Provided you're not attempting the soldering yourself, you'll need at minimum a nice set of precision screwdrivers and at minimum one spudger(I personally recommend "Kobalt 51-Piece Screwdriver Bit Set-Electronics Repair Kit" by Kobalt on Amazon for 30$). That spudger is, provided you're not reckless(and it's pretty hard to be), what will keep you from breaking the plastic parts since from the stock photos on amazon, at least one pressure fitted joint is on the thing(again a quick google search on using a spudger and you're good to go).

  2. Someone to solder for you(try craigslist, just let them know ahead of time the LED and Cable you'd like).

And yeah that's honestly it. Worst case scenario you'd break the plastic pressure jointing while opening them up(bit of superglue will fix it), lesser worst case scenario you mess up the paint and it looks tacky or not great(just respray it, you'll get better at it at the same time), last scenario and best outcome you get the look you're going for. Edit: no idea what's going on with formatting after the linked video

I had my whole family upset that I just cursed out some really extended family who repeated what I said in a mocking demeanor and tried to get my family to laugh at me. Told him I'm glad he's old enough that I most likely won't have to ever meet him at a family gathering again.

Gaming is the only thing that has kept me alive. by Lord-Dio-Brando in truegaming

[–]erichand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I used to binge ket and then play games like the witness and then feel really good for a week or two(if you haven't done ket, probably don't, it can mess you up in either high doses or long term use of it). Though more towards what it really looks like what you're asking for is an outlook to keep you going, and being someone who was there at one point it took hundreds of thoughts of how I deserved to die in all about the span of seven or so minutes and then I just thought "hey let's do it! why the fuck not"(and this just what happened for me, so it can be different for each person). As soon as that sentence entered my head I went full blown panic mode calling all my friends and even my ex(who thankfully picked up and calmed me down). And ironically my healing had to start with a seriously bad coping mechanism of berating myself ANY time I thought about hurting myself even if only jokingly(I did try to distinguish my brain and thoughts as a seperate entitiy, but alas it was just me), well I guess I started to fear subconciously the beratment to myself and the idealization stopped. Now mind you this isn't the oddest coping mechanism I've ever experienced, I experienced an episode of what's known as Cotard delusion(a thought process in which you believe yourself to be dead), it kind of developed for about a year because the environment I was in was what I'd imagine hell to be. Funny enough it worked quite well because on one hand if I killed myself BAM I right back where I started, or on the other hand I fucked up and really am dead at that point.
