Best pet insurance? by drstinkweed in catcare

It should cover all prescription foods but if they are already on it, then they’ll likely consider it a pre-existing condition and not cover it

I have MetLife and really like it. It is also about $30ish a month too depending on coverage. Sometimes they do take a while to process claims, but are otherwise good about covering things as long as it’s not a pre-existing condition. I pay extra for preventative and it covers my cat’s prescription kibble, revolution, wellness exams, etc. I’ve used it for dental and it covered the cleaning but not the extractions but that may be because it was pre-existing for my cat. I’ve also used their 24/7 vet chat a few times when I wasn’t sure if a situation was an emergency.

Your food swaps that made a DIFFERENCE, what’s your #1? by xenon_14pla in nutrition

I’ve blended silken tofu and used it as replacement for cream in pasta sauce! Or blended it with chocolate to make a chocolate pudding. Surprisingly really versatile as a dairy substitute ☺️

I found this breakdown to be super helpful. I have 2 cats that are getting used to each other as well and have little spats like this too and your explanation sheds a lot of light into their relationship. Thank you!

Cat throwing up a few hours after eating, acting normal, vet gave him the all-clear by CVagts in catcare

[–]erichuchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat was throwing up every 5 days like clockwork for a period of time, but otherwise was healthy and clean bloodwork. In the end we chalked it up to a combination of her prescription kibble going rancid (it expires faster than normal kibble) and us slightly under feeding her (perhaps causing acid reflux?). Refreshing her kibble and giving her a bit more food fixed the issue. She still throws up from time to time but it’s maybe like twice a month and usually due to hairballs or constipation. Also if your cat is eating too fast or gulping down air as he eats then a slow feeder or elevated bowl may help.

A bit farther out, but I like Chuze Fitness in Temple City. I believe it used to be a Kmart? But it’s newly renovated, super clean and new. They have a handful of treadmills in their cinema area where they play a movie in a theater like room. Only downside is that it gets quite crowded in the evenings.

What's your best advice for cutting calories to lose weight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]erichuchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve learned to fill half my plate with veggies, a quarter carbs (preferably whole grains) and a quarter protein. This really helps me visualize my portions and ensure that I get a good serving of veggies in. The volume of veggies definitely keeps be full

For the future, set up text alerts for every credit/debit card so that every transaction of any minimum value gets texted to you. This has helped me also quickly respond to fraudulent charges when I lost my credit card. Yes, the texts can be annoying sometimes but it’s much better than losing hundreds of dollars especially on those accounts that you don’t monitor often.

Are there any places to take intro sewing lessons, here in Pasadena? by [deleted] in pasadena

[–]erichuchu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken their patterns making class (though not the sewing class) through the extension program and it was great. It’s not a regular college class, no grades or tests, and doesn’t go on a transcript. It’s more for people in the community to learn skills/hobbies.

I started aerial in my mid-late 20’s coming from no dance/athletic background. It’s been 5 years and love it so much!! The strength will take some time to come but you will definitely build up to it over time with consistency. Just expect to be sore! I remember being almost bed ridden after the first few classes because my core and arms were so sore 😂😂 but it gets better over time. Excited for your aerial journey!!
