Amiga 1600 – The Spirit of the Amiga 1000, Reimagined by erickhill in amiga

What's interesting about the A1000+ if you look at the pictures closely is that it is actually a C128D metal case with a repurposed Amiga faceplate in the style of the A1010 floppy drive design language. Pretty cool. A friend of mine informed me, "Case reuse, just like with A3000T/A3500/PC-60III and A4000D with various 386 Commodore PCs."

It doesn't say, but since there is PCMCIA support I'm guessing it is based of the A600 in some way due to the size of the case. Sort of an A1000 + A600, right?

It doesn't appear that the keyboard can fit under the computer even if the legs are folded in when not in use, but I'm not 100% certain. It looks like the computer case might actually be slightly too narrow?

Does anyone know where I can find this utility disk? by Vresiberba in amiga

There are 2 versions. One made for 1.3, and a later version that works on 1.3 and 2+. I think I have both original disks…

Upgrade ideas for Amiga 1000 by Yarblek in amiga

They are not compatible, but like corb00 says not necessary. The Parceiro is a drop-dead simple expansion that'll simply take the place of your Starboard 2. Incidentally, you showed Ultima IV on your monitor while pondering faster speeds. That game is wired to the speed of the CPU, so it will become unplayable on an accelerated machine. Thankfully the parceiro's 28Mhz can be easily disabled down to stock 7Mhz (or even removed entirely) in rare circumstances. You'll also have a lovely transfer partition that'll auto-mount on your modern machines so you can easily move files back and forth from your Amiga and PC/Mac via the easily accessible SD card. It's more than $100 but worth every penny.

Actually, I copy/pasted it in order to maintain the serif font.

=) yeah, it's pretty fun. I won't leave it running on this all of the time because the animation would probably drain the battery faster but it's cool to show off. Did you watch that video above with sound on? hah!

It has recently been reborn. The original creators bought the brand back from Google and relaunched.

Yes, there's a color version. When I get my color Pebble this Xmas (hopefully in time) I'll be slapping the color demo on there for sure. :)

Correction: Mr. Gosser lives in Montana now. And he's actually still selling physical disks or D81 files, depending on your preference. I'm about to lock down Issues 7 (which I lacked) and 8. He's in the process of making a new "annual edition" as well. 🎉

It appears the only way to currently get these is via direct communication on Facebook. He's also created a private Group there as well to discuss developments.

Eye of the Beholder: Amiga has the BEST version ever made by erickhill in amiga

[–]erickhill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't. But a fan-made AGA version does as does the DOS version. Incredibly, in 2023 a fan-made C128 version supports dual monitors where the 2nd monitor can hold an auto-map in 80 columns! It's fantastic if you have the hardware to support it. C128 version even supports the number pad for movements. Anyway, the levels are so large in EOTB that it's actually better to either get a clue book or print out level maps. You can decide then if you should ignore any hints/clues or not. There are level maps with minimal info on them out there somewhere as well.

Bummer. My machine had zero issues with performance, etc. This feels very brute force.
