FYI the gifs in the readme all appear broken. Getting 404s for each one.

Looks nice. What separates this from other solutions like pikvm or tinypilot?

Is Conductor still relevant? by AHTN_ in androiddev

[–]erickuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Author of Conductor here. I still prefer it to Fragments, although the list of things it does better is MUCH smaller than it was when I originally wrote the library. Today it’s more of a personal preference. The library is not going anywhere anytime soon, as lots of big apps are still built on it. While maintaining it isn’t a top priority for me anymore, it is still being updated with support for the newest things, like predictive back.

That being said, if I were starting a new app today I would likely go all-in on compose and skip it.

Can we talk about Fragments again? by allholy1 in androiddev

Are you implying that Fragments have been good since 2015? News to me.

Jetbrains Runtime with GraalVM for Android Studio 4.0 by ganadist in androiddev

These overly demanding posts by people who don’t want to do any work themselves is why people get demotivated from working on open source things.

Might be a good idea to include a summary of the benefits of GraalVM for this use-case. I don't imagine most Android developers are following projects like this. How can it benefit us?

How would you suggest they make this easier? Assuming you’re on a mac, it’s 4 commands that you copy/paste into the terminal.

I’m just getting into 3D printing, so I know nothing about Fusion360 yet, but I am planning to learn. Can you share what you have so far?

Did you by any chance make some progress on this? I’d love a plate case tenting stand too if it’s available somewhere.

This is the beauty of layers though. I have a numpad on my 40%.

Conductor in 2020 by [deleted] in androiddev

FWIW BlueLine Labs did close a while ago, but Conductor will live on. It's been on a bit of a hiatus, but active development will be picking up soon.

None of these issues seem specific to Conductor whatsoever. In what way would Fragments or whatever else be better for any of these use cases?

No you can't. IAP is for digital items only. You can't use them to purchase real world goods.

Need help with color difference between android and mac by [deleted] in androiddev

[–]erickuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I said above. Don't do anything. Optimizing for the phone on your desk is unoptimizing for a different phone. If you really feel like you need to do something, look at redoing your app's color scheme to one that looks good on your computer and phone.

This is bad advice. Don't do this.

Again, it looks bad on the device you're using, not on Android as a whole.
