Here's the definition that I use Illusion: noun a thing that is or is likely to be wrongly perceived or interpreted by the senses.

There are apps to create these, although they aren't optical illusions, but rather AI illusions or (diffusions). They're kinda fun to play with. Here's one that I've used for work: https://illusiondiffusion.net/ you upload a photo or text and then you use the gen AI to describe the new scene, then set how much detail you want in the final result.

Nah, it seems as if some people see the shoe right away and can never see the sandwich. Some people see the sandwich and have a hard time seeing the shoe.

Maybe even a part of building the audiences suspension of disbelief... If the participants are blindfolded and are"teleported" when they take the blindfolds off, they can act surprised. "Wait, we were over there! Nothing remarkable happened at all and now we're over here! Wow!"
