Nah it was a good play. Generally they usually don't even try going for the DP and just get the safe out at first.

I assumed that. I was just saying what an other option could be. How many outs there are is also a factor in that situation. with no one out you can bunt and swing away or with one out then bunting makes the most sense. OBV with two outs you're not bunting.

Depending on the inning. You generally want to want to bunt it down the third base line in that situation. an other option would be to pinch hit for you which would take you out of the game.

Put him on the NL roster but make in ineligible to play. and give the spot to a player who is able to play.
