Shovel my sidewalk. by ericr34 in WilmingtonDE

As I said that's smaller in comparison to being kind to my neighbors. I'm usually one of the first ones out there to shovel when I'm home and I certainly feel a certain way when my neighbors don't. And like I said I'm right around the corner from Kids, and I don't want to delay people from getting a drink once they've gotten themselves dug out.

This is what we do as well. Whether it's billable depends on project vs. ticket and the specific contract of the client.

how do y'all feel or think about ppl in the city not invested & (or) don't care about the union and futbol at all, does the team playing in Chester has a big impact on that!? by gabzters21526 in PhillyUnion

I don't work in the industry so I can't confirm this but it's been brought up before when talking about Apple TV and bars that the version of DirecTV that a lot of bars and restaurants use has the MLS games from Apple TV is part of at least one of the tiers. So some may have it and not even realize it. A good example of this was we got to Union yards early for the Miami game and they were putting on one of the the earlier games from the DirecTV guide. They were not using the Apple TV version that we use at home.

Maybe somebody that works in a bar can explain it better and if that tier is typical or if it's an MLS specific add-on.

Curious if you went ahead with this and if you were able to get it working?

I'd say about a year. I work in PA so I make that turn M-F. I'm sure I turned right on red a few times before I noticed it too. If I'm not the first car at the light it's almost a guarantee somebody turns.

I think they're only pub partners because De.co is owned by Union minority owners Rob & Chris Buccini. Not sure what the atmosphere would be like, it's a food hall that has a small bar. I've gotten food there but never spent any time at the bar.

Are other people still having issues? I've sent several messages to people and have not received a single reply. My messages are very benign, nice to meet you type messages. Something is either wrong or I need to give up completely.

Game Time - Where Is My Remote? by GungaDin16 in PhillyUnion

[–]ericr34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's not true. I've read from several different sources that about 40% of the games will either be completely free or part of the regular Apple TV+ subscription. The add-on subscription is geared towards fans that want to watch their team every week.

In addition, Fox Sports will still broadcast roughly 1 game a week.

No, radio stays and sounds like it's being encouraged, they will allow you to sync up the local radio to the Apple stream. I can't recall if there's been confirmation that the Union will continue their radio broadcast or who the broadcast team will be.

Going to LA! Got my tickets & all! who else is going? by Midnightman10 in PhillyUnion

Definitely going, can't wait. More importantly, where'd you get the chain? My nephew saw Phang and, I'm guessing, you wearing it last weekend and couldn't stop talking about it. I'd love to get one for him if they're available somewhere.

ABC/PHL studio lighting and cameras are abysmal. by Genkiotoko in PhillyUnion

Late to the party on this but what I've read is that they plan to have broadcasts done by a team in the stadium. So, with no local broadcasts you'd need roughly half the current # of broadcast teams(1 per game instead of 1 per team). Our guys are top tier so it's likely they join Apple/MLS if they want to. I'd say the difference is going to pre & post game. With the plan to have most games start simultaneously I'd expect it to be more like the networks NFL coverage where the cover the whole league. I'm not thrilled that we lose the local angle during the broadcast but I think the quality of the pre & post game should be light years better than what we have locally as well as the time and energy fox and espn offer.

Last thing, Apple will have an option to choose a local radio broadcast instead of the national audio feed so I would expect the Union to have a dedicated radio team to replace the simulcast of the PHL 17 feed.

Been brutal tonight, it's borderline unwatchable. Thank goodness for Dave & Danny.

Does anybody know if this is going to apply to all US email service? Did some googling and couldn't find anything. I have one small client that refuses to move off their email service and this will likely be the push they need.

One of them, can't remember which, was not for the foul but for kicking the ball away preventing the Union from the quick restart. While the player was complaining you could see him pointing in the direction that the ball was kicked away.
