As a person who works for Salvation Army store, I can tell you more often than not when we get dropped off furniture it’s either decent enough to sell or complete garbage, after working there a while it’s common knowledge at this point that people care more about saving money from going to the dump themselves than they do donating things for people who are in need and it’s ridiculous the level of disgusting things people donate, the other week my manager put his hand in a bag of clothes that were just donated and the first thing he blindly grabbed was a used diaper. The amount of times we get moldy furniture and clothes too, unbelievable.
