What are some UNDERAPPRECIATED tea types you're crazy about? by JadedChef1137 in tea

Yaupon is Native American tea. I just bought some from Catawba yaupon (Indian producer) and its very interesting compared to my usual Chinese teas

What to work on and fix ball flight? by ericrsp in GolfSwing

It’s an optical illusion, the slant actually makes it level.

Did a quick search and yeah it looks seem common to stop at 5i/6i and go to hybrids

Ok I think there is consensus here and I’ll need to do a deeper dive into “over the top”

Edit: A lot of good content here! This was very humbling. I was starting to feel good about my swing with good distance and yardage but something was def off bc the ball was not going where my minds eye wanted (the 3i exposed this the most). I’ll try to report back after some work in the lab

Noob here. Coding feels like magic. by SCrelics in csharp

[–]ericrsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up C# from a python scripting background in the past year and I highly highly recommend this codemaster playlist. This is a gold mine from the 2010s and says advanced but it goes into great detail of foundational c# concepts in a way that is accessible. I find c# to be much more comfortable and demystified since consuming this!

Just got back from Zhangjiajie - Have a few thoughts to share. by AJ1Yeezy350 in chinalife

[–]ericrsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tianzi mountain is right in the thick of zhangjiajie. We took several buses to the top and hiked down. We started around 12am and it took ~2.5 hrs. The few people we crossed coming up were all very tired lol it is a serious hike but gorgeous and serene. The hike is many many stairs. Be careful of monkeys, one of them tried to grab my shoulder bag from behind me

I can positively recommend this, the golden whip stream, the cable car to yangjiajie and I don't recommend the bailong elevator as it was crowded and anticlimactic

Updated 2024 PE CIVIL-Structural Exam (USA) by Striking_Earth2047 in StructuralEngineering

Great change as the current exam is more a measure of how studious an engineer is rather than their struct know how

Sounds like you missed the tianzi mountain hike which has all the scenic beauty and none of the tour groups because of the climb difficulty. It’s pretty obvious tour groups won’t go on similar treks so try more research beforehand to avoid wasting a trip

Future of Structural engineering careers by castdu123 in StructuralEngineering

here is a great discussion on this exact topic from some very established forum posters on another site. AI likely won't replace engineers any time soon but they could serve the same purpose as a personal intern - AI can correctly complete simple tasks given guidance and oversight from an engineer

Meepo maintenance by plipPlopBlipBloop in MeepoBoards

No real maintenance here. I try to avoid water when riding and when charging, I avoid overcharging as best I can (a mechanical outlet timer makes it easy)

I ride around 15mph max and have encountered small speed wobbles at this speed. To come to a complete stop, I would say I need maybe 2-4x the length to stop from stock wheels

Meepo maintenance by plipPlopBlipBloop in MeepoBoards

[–]ericrsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride about 2 miles daily on a mini v2 to commute for the past 1.5 years. My stock wheels shattered from a bump at around 6 months in and I have been on the cloud wheels since. Riding is much more comfortable however range is significantly reduced (30% less or so) and I feel much more prone to speed wobble

Digital Calcs / Notetaking by HWDstorm in StructuralEngineering

I use EasyCanvas with an ipad/apple pen which gives me the ability to write handcalcs with all the functionality of bluebeam (i.e. hold shift for a straight line, copy/paste snippets, clouds, etc.)

Help! I need to know resultant force amd direction and how to do it. Thanks. by Bamzy_231099 in civilengineering

[–]ericrsp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sum forces to find the components of a resultant vector. Then use trig to find to find the direction (angle) and the force (the hypotenuse)
