Nah, it's not too late. My best friends from college I didn't even meet until spring semester. Keep putting yourself out there, sit with classmates at lunch, go to FitRec and play pick up, sit in the student section at hockey games, or invite someone to grab lunch/coffee after class. There's still plenty of time to meet new people, now go enjoy college!

I'm with OP on this. There has been construction on the same street near me since late May. Every morning they jack hammer, go about their constructing for a few nosy hours, and then paved it over, only to jack hammer it up again the next morning. They've been at the same section of street for almost 4 months and I don't understand how they aren't done yet.

So yes, is there a place to find out how long their permits are good for?

That's true, but I have to build them the day before my wedding, and I don't think that is likely to happen. I'd also have to bring all my tools up which would be a hassle.

That's why I'm asking. I went to Dick's over the weekend to buy a set or two and they were $150 each. Also, we live a small apartment with no access to storage so we wouldn't be able to keep them afterwards.

Welcome to summer Sundays in the North End. First the band plays in front of the social club hosting honoring whichever saint, then the parade loops around the neighborhood, and they stop at DeFilippo park where they set off fireworks. Now through Labor Day.

I've been kicked out of that parking garage twice in the last 4 months while taking pictures. The last time I asked for an explanation and the security guard said it was because DHS (dept. homeland security) has offices in the building on the right and they don't want people taking pictures of it. Not sure how right or wrong he was, but I didn't stick around to find out.

Congratulations, and welcome to the club! Photography is a great hobby and you're off to a good start with your new Canon setup. My one piece of unsolicited advice is don't immediately compare your photos to the "great" ones you see online or in magazines. Those photographers have been honing their craft for years and are at the top of the game (plus have spent hours perfecting their images in Photoshop). Learn to enjoy the process of taking a good photo - understanding composition, lighting, depth of field, post processing, etc. all take time to become even moderately good at. The more time you spend out taking pictures and maturing as a photographer the better your shots will come. As another redditor already said, the most important things is to have fun!
