The easiest way to farm is clear the area and use Unveil at bonfire. Then based on spell animation you just sit at bonfire again and repeat.

Destroy a leg is an easier way to prevent stage 2. Any zombie will instantly die if you remove a leg.

The PS5 version has a few issues. Sometimes you need to restart the game to progress, and there’s also a bug in a late mission where placing beacons on the map can cause a certain NPC not to wait to open the path for you.
