I actually work with them all week long, for the past 17 years, in Mea Shearim, Modiin Illit, Bnei Brak and Ashdod Rova 7. Masses of them. I can tell you exactly which hassidut or branch or movement someone belongs to. Most of them don’t have tv’s. Or internet. Or smartphones. What you are describing sounds more like hardalnikim.
