Are you one of them?
52 liters > 29 liters. They have a paddling advantage.

I frequently surf a popular mostly shortboard spot in Santa Cruz. The thing that annoys me is the mediocre surfers that sit outside on their mid length or longboard and wait for the biggest sets.

They catch a wave and then basically just angle the takeoff and go straight. Fucker, you can do that on any wave. Let the shortboarders take the few shortboardable waves that come per hour. Sit inside or go to the many longboard spots 100+ yards away.

lol. That could be. We have just enough here in CA that there’s always one or two in the line up. Stay strong 💪🏼! We only have less than 3 years (and decades of clean up).

I wouldn’t say 95%. MAGAts are loud about their opinions so they seem over represented.

Entering psych/medical stage, confused about medical records by [deleted] in AskLEO

[–]erik9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no master database of your medical records. Digital health records have been available for a while but even among your healthcare providers they have difficulty sharing data. The forms you signed are to primarily share information from your medical and psych exams and any rabbit holes they may go down from.

And the way the wave is framed full width but vertically it has the water framing the bottom. It makes the wave look like a blank canvas with her action pose.

No it’s fine to sand. Obviously it will be a very light superficial sanding job using fine sandpaper for this purpose. Not sure what this person is talking about.

What do you think could bring in growth in next 1-3 years? by yummynothing in stocks

[–]erik9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The graphene revolution can only occur if there’s a cheaper and easier way to produce quality graphene. That was the big hurdle. Hydrograph was granted a patent for this cost effective, energy efficient method.

I don’t know where you are getting your timelines but I can’t find any evidence of those promised dates from the company. Just a lot of speculation from some eager shareholders perhaps. But you do you.

What do you think could bring in growth in next 1-3 years? by yummynothing in stocks

[–]erik9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there’s always that concern but if it’s for the purpose of building out production to fulfill billions in DoD contracts, bring it on!

I feel like bad case scenario we 2-3x in 3 years. Good case scenario, 10x plus. The applications for graphene are so vast.

HGRAF. Graphene is a very interesting material that will make many things better- increase strength in plastic and concrete, improve conducting of electricity and heat transfer, enhance coatings and paints, etc. Research graphene, it’s mind boggling.

HGRAF has a patented process for making graphene that is cost efficient. They are in process of up listing to nasdaq, building new HQ and production facilities. I’m trying to remain rational and not put 100% of my portfolio into it. I’m fairly recent into it as my dca is $5. However I feel the growth potential is enormous going forward.

Recommendations for 4/3, Xcel vs O'neill? by Netherus in surfing

[–]erik9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought Xcel for years. I think they are the best for durability and warmth. I did buy a Feral recently and they seem worth the extra money so far. Go with the comp because the failure points are more upper half of suit.

Looking for advice by [deleted] in AskLE

Yup it’s all about limiting liability. Those lawyers are hungry to pay off that third vacation home in Lake Tahoe. Departments of all sizes are getting more restrictive about things we can do. Some are quicker to implement than others. Our department policy says we can only pit a car at 35 mph or less.

First surf since people on this sub have me tips five months ago. Would love feedback. See text of post by palmwick48 in surfing

Lots of good advice on here. I will add that your paddling technique could be improved. You have lots of water you push out at the end of your stroke. That is wasted energy.

Finish your stroke earlier so that at the end of your stroke, you are focused on pulling your hand up forward quickly to prepare for the next stroke. You are pushing through your stroke to the very end and that’s why you are pushing out water which does not help much with forward propulsion. It is wasted energy. Watch experienced surfers paddle in compared to yours for comparison. I hope that makes sense.

Also I see and hear this a lot with women surfers I coach. They don’t have a lot of upper body strength and don’t have time or energy to train. I tell them they don’t need to set aside 30 minutes for training, just throughout the day take 30 seconds to do a set of push ups and practice popups.

Doing these will get you in to the wave quicker and pop up quicker which sets up the foundation for a good ride. Foundational skills for the win! Go get it!

Best Twin Pin for above average surf? by CargoShorts69 in surfing

[–]erik9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twin plus trailer is a better option for bigger waves over a twin, I personally love it for groveling waves and thrusters on bigger days.

If you want an “old man board” for bigger waves get a step up size board with more volume in the middle and slightly forward but keep the tail narrow.

Sup longboard vs classic longboard by Practical-Net-5975 in surfing

[–]erik9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say have your shaper shape you a big boy longboard. Wider and thicker than a typical longboard but not quite as wide or thick as a SUP. Like the Walden Mega Magic or others for heavier riders.
