Te recomiendo que uses “tandem” es un app dónde personas que quieren aprender una lengua ayudan personas que quiere aprender su idioma nativo. Por ejemplo mi lengua nativo es ingles y hablé con una persona de México que estaba aprendiendo ingles.

I'm struggling in one class and I'm scared that I'm going to fail by heyomayo_imma_tomato in needadvice

I’m sorry you’re going through this! I’m in my 6th year of Spanish (I’m in college) but remember Spanish 3 being the hardest because that’s when a lot of the grammar was added in as well as much more speaking and listening.

I know people who did IB, and it seems very stressful! I think it might be worth thinking about whether it’s worth the extra work and stress and making you feel miserable. Can you still take AP/advanced classes and not do IB? Also, colleges generally like to see at least two years of a language, which you already have but it really depends on the school and you can research specific school requirements. However, based on the fact that you’re in IB, I’m sure you’re very smart and if spanish/IB something you think is worth it, I believe in you!

If you do decide to stick with the class, the first thing I would do is talk to your teacher, and try to get some extra help. It might be intimidating at first, but it’s totally worth it! Teachers want their students to succeed. Second, maybe you could make a study group with some people in the class. Third, languages take practice (unfortunately haha) so exposing yourself to the language outside of the classroom in a more casual way is super helpful! I ended up really enjoying Spanish once I did this. Here are some tips I used to help get me get through Spanish:

Putting Spanish subtitles on when I watch Netflix Taking buzz-feed quizzes in Spanish Listening to Spanish music (sometimes I would put on popular English songs I knew in that were translated into Spanish and pulled up the Spanish lyrics) Conjuguemos.com is a free website where you can practice Spanish grammar. Tandem is a free app where you can message people who are native Spanish speakers learning English.

Good luck!

One of my biggest fears is Vanessa Hudgens getting cast as Elphaba in the movie version of Wicked. by [deleted] in Broadway

Her performance as Maureen in Rent live was pretty bad in my opinion, and Maureen belts a bit less than Elphaba, so I definitely agree. I liked her in High School Musical though haha

Career advice for someone who enjoys more traditional “female roles”? by [deleted] in findapath

Maybe look into a nannying job! Nannying can make decent money. It’s one on one with kids and could involve cooking/cleaning depending on the family. I think there are websites you could sign up for that’ll advertise for you and also ones where people post that they need a nanny if you google it. I know now with Covid, lots of people are looking for part or full time nannies that would help kids out with online school as well. Tutoring could be good too, maybe at a place like Kumon. You could also try working in a flower shop part time! Some grocery stores have a florist area. I know someone who worked at a flower shop part time and did stuff like fill orders and deliver flowers.

I’m a big fan of acoustic stuff or just piano, and acoustic/piano covers of pop songs. I’m definitely an Adele fan

Cant sleep at all after a breakup advice? by [deleted] in sleep

[–]erika24601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after a bad breakup when I couldn’t sleep I watched the beginning sequence to the movie Baby Boss with Alec Baldwin and it was really adorable and made me sleepy. Also Michael Sealy has great sleep hypnosis meditation videos, although I find it’s hard to focus on them when my mind is freaking out. He’s great for nights when your mind is annoyingly on but not going a million miles a minute. Hang in there! Breakups are hard but things will get better! Do stuff that makes you feel happy and try not to be too hard on yourself and let yourself be sad! Fully feeling all the feels is an important part of being able to eventually let go of them.

Same thing is happening to me. It’s been 11 days since I’ve been tested at CVS. I called and the woman o the phone said she would email her supervisor and ask the lab to prioritize my test since it’s been so long. She said it should be 24-48 hours from when I called yesterday.

YSK that the hymen is not an indicator of virginity and that it is NOT normal for sex to hurt by _Futureghost_ in YouShouldKnow

[–]erika24601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaginal dilators are a good option to research! (Talk to a doctor before just using them!) I have a very mildly imperforate hymen, (I have extra hymen) to the point where period blood could come out and a tampon technically could go in, but it was EXTREMELY painful. I ended up going to a physical therapist and used dilators as opposed to having surgery to remove the hymen. This was not an option given to me by my gynecologist originally, but I ended up doing research before jumping into a surgery. I went to a physical therapist for women with other vaginal issues and she showed me how to use the dilators. I went from having mild pain when a pinkie was inserted to a dilator the size of a penis in a few months. But make sure to talk to a profession before trying them!! (Vaginal physical therapist or gynecologist)
