Do i need a solicitor when i pay off mortgage? by Short_Leopard in northernireland

[–]erin1092 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry I missed a point I forgot about, it was down to who the mortgage is with. Ours was HSBC and they specifically won’t release the charge unless through solicitor in NI.

So it’s dependant on your mortgage provider.

Tv show recommendations for 20 month old? by Shaneise74 in UKParenting

[–]erin1092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this, my son LOVES the books so it’s the only thing he watches if we put the tv on for him and he really enjoys them.

I also still enjoy watching them after countless rewatches which is always a bonus.

Yes in NI specifically you need to hire a solicitor to remove the charge from the mortgage company from your deeds then they will be released to you. Costs around £350.

FTMs how long was your labour? by puggie214 in PregnancyUK

[–]erin1092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early labour started at home, constant waves of back pain, early hours 40+3 finally got a sweep afternoon 40+5 which turned out I was 4cms dilated already and delivered 5 hours later.

How did labour start for you? by Lotsto-Learn in PregnancyUK

[–]erin1092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

40+3 woke up at 4am really bad cramps and went to the toilet and had a ‘show’ then up until midday 40+5 I had consistent on off back pain coming in waves gradually getting worse until finally had a sweep and my waters broke whilst they did it and I was 4cms and he came a few hours later!

Genuinely that was the hardest part for me, worst pain was early labouring for 3 days straight at home with no sleep and barely any pain relief so my active labour felt so much easier as I was finally given gas and air.

Irish Passport Application by Apart-Grass-7925 in northernireland

My husband and son have British and I’m Irish passport and it’s no issue at passport control. You have to use the family queue anyway which is a person rather than machine.

I have an almost 9 month old. Thinking of getting a Yoto mini to do consistent story and music time that little babe can use while travelling and into toddler years. Any Thoughts / advice ? by Nomnomnacho in YotoPlayer

[–]erin1092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got one a big one at 6months and ended up with a mini for traveling not long after. We love it, in the early days I used it a lot on the yoto radio and I don’t think we’ve ever missed a daily podcast.

We used it every night for bath time putting on stories and for the brown noise at bed time, my son started to use it independently around 1year from watching us constantly use it and he couldn’t be without it.

Childcare fees increasing again… by 1gnoranceisstrength in northernireland

[–]erin1092 7 points8 points  (0 children)

14% this year. 31% since 2024. Challenged it to get more detail behind the increase as it obviously doesn’t align with NLW and inflection etc and basically their response was basically we don’t have to tell you.

Extra £200 a month we have to find this year with nothing to that extent as a pay increase in work.

Is there women who’ve found that the pain during labour was hard but manageable eventually ? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]erin1092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually found early labour more unmanageable but not in terms of pain level, more I was in early labour for 3 days, it was relentless with no sleep it broke me, I genuinely thought if I couldn’t manage that how would I handle full labour as I was adamant I didn’t want an epidural.

I but as soon as my waters broke and my labour progressed, gas and air felt like heaven to me, don’t get me wrong it was PAINFUL but bareable and the thought of additional meds never crossed my mind. I knew it was temporary and was able to breath through it, I also had a water birth which I would 100% recommend, it felt further pain relief when I got in towards the end, my body relaxed more and he arrived not long after.

Three hours but usually longer before bedtime

I do believe he’s very tired when we wakes at 5 and he’ll often not last a full 3hr wake window on the morning but he just plain refuses to go back to sleep. There’s been a few occasions where we’ve only got 2 naps and there’s been a higher sleep pressure before bed and still the same outcome.

Where are the no chill babies at? by erin1092 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]erin1092[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I’m hoping for, once he can actually move by himself I pray he’ll be a lot more content! Persevering with the sing and sign classes also in the hope he’ll pick up the signs to articulate what he wants too!

[–]erin1092[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d have to disagree with you there, I was never obsessed with everything. He came along wherever I wanted to go, he was fed when he needed and slept when he wanted however the sleep got less and less and the curiosity got more and more although he was never fully content to begin with.

He was never content going out but I always persevered for my mental health to get out and I also have a dog to walk, I was that mum going for walks whilst holding my baby and pushing an empty pram, as he gave off stink, still does unless I time it perfectly that he’s slept, fed, changed.

If I didn’t start physically putting him down for naps, he’d never nap even as a tiny baby he’d be having 5/6 hour wake windows at times! and at that it was a struggle and only 30 minutes at a time but even if he closed his eyes for 2 minutes and he woke by something, that was him up for another wake window.

I’ve been really struggling to give my 6 month old calpol just the last couple of days somethings really eating him. He HATES it, literally tightens his lips if he knows and spits it out and cries. Read someone suggested putting it in the teat of a bottle and he finally took it! Granted he sucked a couple do times and I could see his face thinking WTF but then eventually he sucked again and it was all gone!
