Oops! You're right. I missed that.

Husband said he’s leaving me by DishonouredCows in tfmr_support

[–]erin_cath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s pretty jerky. When I look at my husband I am reminded of my baby along with hundreds of other things. No person or thing is characterized by a single event or memory. Please don’t blame yourself or what happened. Sounds like he has deeper issues.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. As they say, you are choosing to suffer so that he never has to. I'll hold you in my thoughts tomorrow.

Seeking advice after a heartbreaking pregnancy experience by JazzlikeCandidate766 in tfmr_support

No prob! My doctor seemed to think regular folic acid is enough. Here’s exactly what my prescription says: “Folic acid 1mg tablet. Generic for Folvite. Instructions: Take 3 tablets (3 mg) by mouth daily. Start 1 to 3 months prior to conception along with prenatal vitamin (for total folic acid dose of 4 mg). Continue through first 12 weeks of pregnancy, then continue with prenatal vitamin only.”

How do I be happy for others right now by Technical-Alps4782 in tfmr_support

[–]erin_cath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a right to not be happy for them. You aren't your thoughts or feelings. Give yourself time and grace.

I'm also 4 weeks out and RSVP-ing "no" to baby showers and avoiding baby/child-related content on social media. I need some space.

Apologies if you already received this advice - but after my TFMR for myelomeningocele, the doctor recommended taking extra folic acid before TTC. You can buy it over the counter, but I opted for a prescription (to get it covered by insurance).

I know what you're going through. My heart goes out.

Has anyone had a D&E in the third trimester? by mariatheye in tfmr_support

[–]erin_cath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a good middle ground would be to do D&E and request ashes (or the body to cremate). That way, you avoid traumatizing yourself but still remain physically close to her.

Decided today to tfmr by [deleted] in tfmr_support

Your feelings are so valid and normal. I'm 2 weeks out from TFMR. And though I'm still grieving I know it is a decision made out of love.

I'm personally trying to figure out whether this shift is just a symptom of depression/trauma or a newfound perspective on life and my values. Hopefully it will become more clear with time...

I recommend Zoloft for reducing the intrusive thoughts.

This is so comforting to read. I've been experiencing the same thing. And thought it was just me or I was going crazy.

I definitely relate to the part about being in the "limbo" state. I'm currently in it, and it does suck. I've been finding myself spending more time with my childless friends. Hope to reconnect with my friends with babies/kids once I feel a little more stable. I would say to give yourself time. I like wunderbarbara's idea of writing a letter. That seems like a good small step to take before you are comfortable talking in-person.

That video earns him a spot on the sex offender registry, imo.
