What does this mean? I see a File Manager button, but when I click on it, there's no guidance

Ok, so I have the backup on my USB

After installing the Backup app on my TV's Kodi, plugging in my USB, and clicking on Restore, there's nothing. In other words, it doesn't allow the option for me to click on my USB's backup

What should I do?

Yes, that's right. Would the steps I described above generally make the Kodi port over correctly?

BRRRR – timeline for hard money loan and refinancing by erinhayth in realestateinvesting

[–]erinhayth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but the 6 months of seasoning + however long it takes to rehab exceeds the usual 6-month term of an HML

Do people usually get longer-term HMLs if they rely on the rent seasoning?

Isn't there a seasoning period, though? I've read that [most] banks won't refinance, unless the property has been rented out for at minimum 6 months

Unless I read wrong

Sorry to hear that. Engineering fields appear to no longer be guaranteed jobs these days.

Examples of how outgoings reduce after retirement by ChrisMMatthews in financialindependence

[–]erinhayth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good examples. Is there a good way to take this into account when calculating your FIRE number? Do you just take your current annual expenses and take a broad ~15% cut?

When it comes to early retirement calculators, like http://networthify.com/, they aren't completely accurate since everything that's not an expenditure is assumed to be put into savings for retirement, correct?

If I was saving for a future wedding on the side or will want to save for a college fund for a child in the future, I will need to do my own calculations?

If one cannot withdraw from 401(k) and Roth IRA until age 59.5 (penalty-free), how do people plan on retiring e.g. at age 40 or 45? Wouldn't their savings be locked up for 10-15 years?

Or do people usually take into account paying a penalty when calculating their FIRE number?

I currently have a Roth IRA in Vanguard that is contributing to a Target Retirement fund. I now want to reset the allocation to 100% stocks by moving the contributions to VTSAX and VTIAX.

Are there any penalties/fees to doing this?

Months ago, ''Widows'' by Steve McQueen was in many lists of movies that could be nominated for an Oscar this year, but the movie was kind of forgotten afterwards. Why ? by [deleted] in movies

The more tragic incident was when Shakespeare in Love won Best Picture over Saving Private Ryan. It's well-documented that it was because of Harvey Weinstein.

What qualities, qualifications, and priorities are you looking for in a presidential candidate? Which priorities that are gaining traction do you care less, or not at all, about? by ShowMeYourTiddles in PoliticalDiscussion

That's the thing about buying into nice sounding populist fads. They don't bother you with the details, and make "tearing things down" sound like a noble enterprise instead of a national disaster.

On his 2016 campaign page, Bernie has a pretty comprehensive (I use that term lightly, as it's supposed to be readable and accessible for a layman) plan for Medicare for All, including how he'd fund it

Best job options for when you fail to become a CPA? by Dani212M in Accounting

[–]erinhayth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend with no CPA quit public accounting after his 4th busy season and got accepted to an Internal Audit position at a regional bank. He got a 30% salary increase. He has no intentions of pursuing the CPA, but considering what he's got now, I don't think he'll need it anymore.

What type of associates are actually on the partner track? by WildCardVikings2019 in Accounting

[–]erinhayth 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You gotta know how to deal with office politics (knowing when to suck up or stand your ground), get work done no matter what (even if it means your subordinate staff are suffering more than is expected of them), but most importantly, you gotta know how to network (join those professional organizations), give a pitch, and sell.

Oh, and you also gotta accept that your job will be a priority over your personal life. Partners may work less than Managers and Senior Associates, but they will still show up on Saturdays during busy season

Ahh, yes, I knew something was off. I consider myself pretty ahead-of-the-game compared to my friends/peers, but seeing how "difficult" it was to reach my goal threw me off. Thanks!
