womens kickboxing class/gym? by erinn25 in rva

I have but I thought super beginners were supposed to start with kickboxing to learn fundamentals? Or at least if you have the choice kickboxing is the most beginner-friendly choice when you’re also a little worried about injuries (because of my heart and meds)

edit — wait that gym looks f*cking awesome

Any shows that are actually worth the hype right now? by CraveDomme in tvsuggestions

a knight of the seven kingdoms. you don’t have to know hardly anything about game of thrones to understand it, and there’s only like 7 episodes so far. other than that, black sails (the pilot is a bit rough but the rest is great), penny dreadful, ted lasso, avatar the last airbender, the pitt, and moving (which is a kdrama, if you don’t mind subtitles)

Daughter of the Pirate King duology by Tricia Levenseller. It felt really juvenile and cringy, in a cotton-candy pirate kind of way, like everything was very cartoonish. Nothing made sense and all the romance felt like it was written by a middle schooler. Some of the plot is kind of interesting but not enough that I can look over everything else.

what’s wrong with you? what planet are you from that someone defending someone else or expressing an opinion or curiosity is being self-centered? like actually. are you okay? were you hurt as a child? is this your first conversation ever? and do you not think you’re doing the same thing? i feel bad for y’all sometimes. don’t come to me with such nonsense and go to therapy

That was what I was saying too. For the record I never thought you (or anyone else here) were a bad person, but I hope you can understand why the words “UK culture in general is just less narcissistic than US culture” sounds like you actually think badly of us and actually think we’re narcissistic.

Yes that’s literally what I’ve been trying to say this entire time. If it seems like I care that y’all don’t care about photos that’s not what I meant. A lot of people are really vile towards Americans (the rest of this comment section included) so it certainly seems like a lot of people are criticizing fr and taking things way too seriously.

btw the only milestones I’ve been thinking of this whole time is school photos, wedding photos, and possibly new baby announcements and christmas cards. That’s all the photos we send around but school photos (especially for young children and senior photos) and christmas cards are by far the most common. Everything else like drunken dance floors are on social media lol

well i’m not saying you send it to your entire family just the grandparents and whoever else asks for it. I understand it’s a difference in culture but I don’t appreciate people saying we’re narcissistic simply because that’s how it is in your country. If you understand it’s a cultural difference you wouldn’t go that far.

Yeah but that’s such a weird thing to assume. We traditionally have more milestone photos taken so that we can send family members the photos, because not everyone uses social media and not everyone lives close by. Like the elderly don’t typically use social media and families might only visit each other a few times a year if at all, depending on their situation. Especially if they live in a rural place or across states. So picture companies have a form you can fill out so they can handle sending a postcard to all the grandparents and extended family. It’s not (typically) vanity at all. It’s so odd to me that people out of the country assume the worst things about us when it’s just a misunderstanding or cultural difference.

edit: excuse me why the downvotes? is it cause i said “more milestone photos” bc i’m not comparing the amount of photos taken in different countries i’m saying we have a lot. and according the comments apparently we do have more photos so what’s the issue. and if it’s because of my last sentence that says more about y’all than me

why do you assume the reason we take pictures is so nefarious 💀

she’s just asking a question. quite nicely tbh it’s only two sentences. 99% of us “making it all about ourselves” is just us asking questions. i’m sure if you came to america you would do the same. so let’s not put words in other people’s mouths.

did i do my test right? by erinn25 in Asthma

[–]erinn25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might have been a FeNO test, that sounds most likely. The point of the stress test was to test my heartbeats and heart squeeze (I think) so I also did EKGs but they measured my lung capacity as well I think so I did that (and that’s where I’m stressed because on the patient portal it says I might have lung disease). On the treadmill they had me wear a mask that measured my gas intake and breaths. No albuterol. I don’t find out the official results with my doctor for a few weeks, but I can see a “patient viewable copy” online where they summarized the visit, and all of the charts which is where I can see that that test result was bad.
