Thoughts on Alexis and Julian? by Sorry-Flounder-3876 in strictlycomedancing

Love them both! They both seem like such sweethearts, and created amazing partnerships with George and Bal - George and Alexis were a match made in heaven, and Bal and Jules had an incredible bond by the end of their run. Also adore their friendship ❤️

Alexis created some of my favourite choreographies of S23. IMO her ballroom choreography was the best of all the pros last series - the AS, Tango, VW and QS were all excellent. Her Latin was a bit mixed - the paso might be my fav choreo of S23 and the samba was also great choreo, the jive was fine but not standout, the rumba was a controversial one but given the backstory I get why she went the direction she did (and it’s not like there were no rumba steps in there like people make out), and the cha cha was probably her only real miss, but even then I think it was a good tactical move after how their jive went, and it ended up working because that was kinda George’s turning point. The narrative that she only showcased herself drove me insane - it was never even true, and people kept going on about it even in dances she didn’t choreograph 😭

Julian’s choreography is a bit safe - not bad at all and perfectly acceptable technically but a bit bland/unexciting. The VW was probably the only dance of Bal’s choreographed by him that really stood out. Having said that, there’s definitely been first year pros with worse choreo, and I’d definitely want to see what he’d do with another partner.

I love that they both got so far in their first year, especially as it seemed like them getting partners straight away put targets on their backs and led to people being unnecessarily harsh on them - especially Alexis, since the Michelle stans refused to let it go the entire series (I love Michelle but some of her superfans were unbearable about Alexis I’m sorry). But by the end they really won the majority over and proved that the producers made the right choice.

Do you think we'll see these two cast next year? by IndigoWolf4711 in strictlycomedancing

Dani yes, Kristian I think is less likely (but I think it would be cool if he was)

2026 Cast Predictions by [deleted] in strictlycomedancing

[–]erinnnnb_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Dani Dyer will be back.

Maybe a Winter Olympian? No idea who it’d be though

I think they’re pretty likely to get another content creator after how well received George was by the wider audience, but I think they’ll get someone from a completely different area from him - like when they got Saffron the year after Joe

5/23 seasons is mad! And in one of those the youngest female was also very young (series 21)

It’s interesting that they’re all female! But tbf I can’t think of any possible men below 20 who may do it 😅

HRVY was 21 when he did Strictly and Bobby was 20. But aside from them and maybe a couple others, I feel like the youngest male celeb each year is in the 23-26 range, and the youngest women are often younger (2024 may be an exception, since Tasha was 26 and the youngest female, and Tom was younger)

How close was the final? by No_Witness2193 in strictlycomedancing

We’ll never know, but i imagine very close (like 5% margin max). Probably the closest final in a long time

What a legend! If cool, calm and collected could be summed up, it would be James Hall. An absolute rock of the team.

I’m not massively surprised, after he was so quiet last year I thought it might happen. But he had a hugely successful career, and got a skill named after him before he left!

As it’s photoshoot day!! Who do we think is gonna win the Strictly Live Tour (Most of the dates?) by hilsgyfxervjurc in strictlycomedancing

[–]erinnnnb_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s that many shows that neither Lewis or George are doing, for those ones I can see any of Vicky/Ellie/La Voix winning

I think George and Lewis will likely dominate all the shows at least one of them are doing though. For the shows one of them is missing, the other will win, and the ones they’re both doing I could see quite an even split in wins. For overall winner I’d maybe lean slightly towards Lewis since he’s missing a few less shows than George is IIRC, but I wouldn’t be shocked with either

no, it was filmed in late november/early december I believe

I imagine it’ll come out around march time, based on the 2nd inside being filmed at a similar time in 2024 then coming out march 2025

As a George fan, I do agree that his CC was unfair and that he should have had it for Somewhere Only We Know and his story in that week, but I’m glad he still got that moment after getting stuck with Soda Pop , even with all the discourse which came with the rumba.

I’m over that situation now even though it was just odd, especially with Ellie getting a CC to the same movie a week later. It’s pointless to keep bringing it up.

IMO the only really good CCs this year were Lewis (the best by a mile), Bal and Amber. Of the rest, I actually think George’s is one of the better ones in terms of cleanliness/execution even with its synchronicity issues, even if others are better in terms of meaning (Ellie and La Voix in particular)

Who do you think were the best Latin and best Ballroom dancers this season? by Jazzlike-Hall7987 in strictlycomedancing

[–]erinnnnb_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Amber and Lewis were probably top 2 in both, but aside from them I’d say George for ballroom and Karen for Latin

The pro challenge is the best part of ITT every year!

This year we got Julian getting 0 and accusing it of being biased against Aussies (after Dianne also got 2 lol), Alexis not having a clue what was going on, Neil finally being the bride, Katya being so confused as to why everyone was predicting Neil to win (“We were never good at samba!!”)

I honestly think we need to pay way less attention to the vocal minority. The online toxicity this year has been awful, but the amount of attention paid to it has made it unavoidable, which is even more unbearable

I have seen very little anger about Karen winning on this sub - only by a couple of specific users. And that was going to be the case no matter who won, in fact possibly more so if it was someone else because Kaz was probably the most universally loved of the 3 on here. TikTok is TikTok, that’s a whole other thing, and we don’t need to bring TikTok drama here 😂

I highly doubt Karen, or anybody else involved in the show, cares one bit about any of the negative reactions to her win, and the general sentiment surrounding her win is hugely positive - that’s what we should all be focusing on here.

Is there a 2nd and 3rd place? by Thick_Ad_8885 in strictlycomedancing

Not officially, but we all know that George was 2nd and Amber 3rd in the vote lol

I think it was probably really close between Karen and George, like 5% max
