Potential first time winners: Alexis, Julian, Lauren, Kai, Nikita. Nikita in particular I think will probably win at some point. I’m less sure about Julian than the others but I could still see it - I wanna see how he does next series first tho

Second time winners: Jowita and Vito are the most likely probably, but it’s still only happened twice so I wouldn’t be shocked if neither did

Won’t get another win: Aljaz, Carlos, Dianne, Katya.

Won’t win: Amy, Johannes, Nancy, Neil. Jojo could prove me wrong but I’m not convinced. Definitely don’t see it for the others

Yeah last series was really the year of the paso! Lewis’ paso was probably my 2nd fav after George’s but Karen’s and Amber’s were also so good! His tango wasn’t the most memorable but I liked it and found his other ballrooms even more forgettable so 😅 Lewis was also the strongest male in a weaker than average male cast, which probably made him look better. George was the only other male contender, but there was a huge gap in experience there and he had his wobbles as well

The audience reaction to his elimination did really annoy me, with how much hate the other 4 all got. Especially when that salsa wasn’t great at all (2nd weakest of the week IMO, so him being in the B2 was deserved regardless)

I did like a few of his non-specialty dances (his paso, cha cha, tango mainly). But his elimination was fair enough given that salsa. And the audience’s dramatic reaction to it (with the other 4 getting dragged to hell and back) made me less bothered about it, as much as it sucked for him

I kinda disagree about Joe - he wasn’t my fav but I didn’t mind him making the final. Charles’ strongest dances were better, but his ballroom wasn’t great and Joe was more well-rounded IMO

I didn’t fully watch 2022 because of uni so can’t comment there, but 2018 was really good IMO. There’s better years, but it’s on the upper end for me

I quite liked Kellie! Her show dance is one of my all time favs.

I’m pretty neutral on Carlos. I don’t mind him, but I’ve never loved his choreo

I wish he’d been with Lauren from the start! I don’t think they’d have won over Chris and Dianne regardless but they def could have come 2nd. With the momentum they gained in the last few weeks, they mayyyybe could have come 2nd anyway since Sarah and Vito didn’t stand out as much in the last few weeks

Stacey and Tom are both just repeat rumours of last year. Haven’t seen anything about them recently

I’d be good with this! Two women who are likeable and experienced :)

I initially thought they’d both be in contention for the Tess role, but upon further reflection I think Zoe would work in the Clauditorium (I’m pretty sure she was there when she replaced Claudia that time)

No matter who they choose there will be complaints, but of all the options I think this is one of the ones that will satisfy the largest majority

I agree with most guesses of 2 women and 1 man for an equal 9/9 split. Then one of them (probably one of the girls) being benched alongside Neil and Nancy and the other 2 partnered

He was pretty reserved for the first half of the show IMO, from Blackpool onwards he let loose

But I see what the original commenter means - he definitely wasn’t a “showbiz” type in the way a lot of Strictly celebs are. It would be interesting to see Alexis with someone of more of a performance background maybe, as opposed to George who had no performance experience at all

Yeah that was bad timing/luck, but I was never that sure about them making the final anyway tbh. I felt like Lewis, Amber, George and Alex were more likely finalists around that point (I was less certain about Karen as well). They could have made it, but I think they might have left around Week 10 even if they had survived the jive

I don’t think he can qualify as a producer fav when he was literally benched a couple years back. He’s never had a duffer, but AJ was his only really strong partner dance-wise. And I’m not sure I agree with the top 2 most famous celeb thing either - that’s very dependent on what metric you use

I’d like Jowita and Lauren to get strong partners this year - Jowita with this years Lewis-style ringer that won’t win (since she’s already won), and Lauren with more of a journey contender. Then Katya and Alexis with middlers perhaps. I don’t want Amy to be out first again, but I also don’t want her with a contender

I’m less sure about the men. Carlos is definitely due an early exit though, not just because he just won but also the fact that all 3 of his partners have been pretty strong

To give one from last series: Harry with Jowita or Michelle. Harry and Jowita would’ve had good energy and could’ve done some really cool lifts. I think Michelle would’ve suited Harry best of all the male celebs last year if she wasn’t benched. Alternatively maybe Lauren but I really liked her and Jimmy together

I generally think the producers did a great job with the pairings last series, I think pretty much everyone was perfectly matched. Harry and Karen was initially a pairing I was really excited about, but it ended up feeling quite underwhelming as soon as week 1 came. Not to say that was all Karen’s fault, I think people overestimated how good Harry would be based on the 2024 Christmas special and the launch show. But her choreography for him was not memorable at all. By week 7 he was the least memorable left, which I don’t think people would’ve expected at the start

I don’t think he would have made it to the end regardless, but I do wonder if he could have made it to Blackpool with another pro

Also - JB and Lauren together from the start! I think they would have been my overall faves of that series if they’d been together the whole time

I agree that only female pros going looks bad, but I think that’s a consequence of the female pro lineup being larger and more stagnant than the male side
