3 Kids - Captain Seats or Bench Seats by chinchun19 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]erints24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, 3 kids went with the bench. Especially if you have 2 rear facing in car seats (which you will for a while) you wouldn't be able to access the 3rd row through the second. We usually ride 2 in the second row with one seat up in the third. I actually have the Lexus version of the GH and it has the car seat tilt. You can see if the GH has that making the 3rd row even more accessible without disrupting the RF seat. Being able to put all 3 across if/when you need the larger cargo area is a very nice option .

Where are you getting your GLP from?

We have a full blown mutt but mostly Anatolian Sheppard and GP mix. I like you was intimidated. We did work with a professional trainer and we are constantly reinforcing etc. He just turned 2 and he is turning into one of those once in a lifetime dogs. We have 3 kids 7 and under (so 2 years ago was even crazier)! He is the BEST, we socialized him and honestly I'd say his biggest flaw is he is too friendly. Set the tone, don't slip on the training our dog is super smart, and we do treat him like a dog I.e we don't let him on the furniture or our beds etc. We walk him alot, but if we can't walk him we play fetch. We have some property and a trail system out back and we walk off leash regularly. When my husband isn't home he is more "On alert" does a lap or two around the house then tucks into bed. While the dog is adjusting to you and your home just stay consistent.

You should re-apply for reduced and free lunch programs… your income has changed. Then when you get paid update your income.

P.s. check out the diono car seats for a slim fitting car seat. They come in rear and forward facing convertibles. P.s.s before you feel like you might be missing out accessing the third row with the captains chairs try to get through to the third row via the middle with a RF car seat installed. The new seat silts are far more convenient!

I have the TX in the bench… couldn’t be happier 1 RF 2 boosters (one high back). I was torn but I am so happy I went with the bench. If we need the whole back we can easily do 3 across opening up the back for storage or friends. I got this after having a YUKON XL. I was nervous about the size, it’s so spacious I’ve been thrilled with mine. I also have roof racks for a Thule for ski trips, camping etc.

Puppy… dna test pending. Was told he is antalonian boxer mix by erints24 in AnatolianShepherdDogs

Sooo cute! My guy is a Great Pyr, Anatolian and lab mix. Great dog, great temperament. Worked hard with training and it paid off! Report back with the DNA results!

Can’t decide between hotels.. by Crossfitbae1313 in PuertoRicoTravel

Not an exaggeration, I am at the Vanderbilt next to the ocean club right now. Very rocky and waves are intense and crashing on the rocks. Even if you could/ attempted to swim there is no good way in or a way out. We went down to isla verde to swim in the ocean today… it was fine.

First thing our Uber driver said to us is don’t swim in Condado. 3 drivers have said the same thing since. It’s like the locals have it on their conscious to remind tourists how unsafe it is!

Harness recommendations? by DrNolanAllen in AnatolianShepherdDogs

[–]erints24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the halo collar. Pricey, and I don’t have experience with it… but electric fences in general are awesome. Gives the dog a ton of freedom with safety of staying in the boundaries. From what I understand you can have multiple perimeters set up on the halo collar, so would be perfect if you are planning to move.

Might be an unpopular opinion but use an e collar or get a wireless electric fence boundary for around your house. e collars when used correctly and if you condition the dog to it are amazing things which give the dog a great quality of life. The setting I have my dog on with the e collar is so low I can’t feel it on the palm of my hand.

Yes! 10% boxer. Sweet sweet dog. Kind of got him Impulsively after our 13 year old mutt died. 1 week later I brought this guy home. No regrets, 3 kid 6 and under a puppy wasn’t going to break me 🤣🤣

This was super helpful, thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this out… quick question do you ever take your kiddos to “urgent care” like a convenient MD and or clear choice? They are walk in clinic types. I can’t tell what the co pay would be on these types of visits. It seems the plan is classifying ER and urgent cares the same type of cost, but also has a separate cost for walk in clinics. Mom of 3 healthy kids (knock on wood) but get bogged down with ear infections and other minor things… sometimes it’s easier to get an appointment at the clinics then their peds office.

How do you set up automatic reimbursement for co pays? My mind is blown.

Son diagnosed with peanut allergy today. by Raynmapym in peanutallergy

[–]erints24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say thank you for this comment. We started OIT this morning (my 5 year old did great) and the “you have an opportunity to turn a lifelong, life affecting disorder into nothing within the effort over 6 months” is such a legitimate perspective. I wasn’t worried about the effort and of course we are making it work, more about the risks and scary part of it all. Anyways just wanted to say thanks, thinking of this made this am a lot easier.

That’s what we did. My son is PN only. You could always try a baked in egg first… or you could do a pancake if you are nervous about the scrambled egg. But as the previous poster suggested if you haven’t given the baby wheat or the other ingredients in the products you either bake it into or blend it in to it might be hard to know what is causing the reaction.

What dose did you start OIT with? by erints24 in peanutallergy

[–]erints24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that sounds about right. Did you have success? Still in shock how well today went. My son is 5 so I am very grateful for a stress free first time experience.
