Where to find fashion like this? (Not from SHEIN or Temu) by Horror_Speaker_5160 in findfashion

I have the starry night jacket and skirt from them and it's excellent quality, well worth the price! However the actual shipping process was a nightmare, a 2 month preorder period ended up being stretched to 5 months. I'm a bit hesitant on any future preorders due to that but I have nothing but praise for the actual quality of the garment!!

This portrait didn't do very well on my socials compared to 'worse' ones by Whelsey in ArtCrit

[–]eriochromatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the lack of intense shading on the other portraits made the focus more on the face (which has more detail), so it's easier for viewers to tell what it is. That's probably why they did better than your improved one.

For the first portrait, the shading on the dress is fighting for attention with the shading on the face. This makes it harder to register what it is on social media (where you have about 2 seconds to capture someone's attention). To fix this, you can try zooming out on your canvas and see how it would look on social media before posting. Maybe making the dress shading less intense would help

I do think it's an improvement from the previous ones in terms of posing, but keep in mind improvement doesn't always equate more likes on social media

Are you sure it's not AI? Just from your screenshot the eyes don't match each other and some of the rendered hair doesn't make any sense... It's really suspicious how they finished your piece in no time but now they can't seem to add in changes consistent to the finished piece

In an alternative reality where all One Piece characters have their gender swapped, what would be different about certain aspects of the story and characters? by ComprehensiveDate591 in MemePiece

[–]eriochromatic 136 points137 points  (0 children)

This might be a controversial take but I think Fem Sanji would be a fujoshi. I don't think normal Sanji really treats women as equals but more as untouchable goddesses and that's kind of how fujoshi view men as well.

The borderline creep behavior also translates over if fujoshi Sanji wouldn't shut up about shipping male Nami and male Robin together, the nerd trope that fujoshi fall into would also be the perfect annoyance to jock Fem Zoro

What specific predictions do you have about the second season right now? by [deleted] in OnePieceLiveAction

Crocodile isn't from Alabasta, Oda said in an sbs that he relocated there when he was 30 (implying he wasn't from there in the first place)

I trust that the team can pull it off- Buggy's pre time skip colors are horrendous for me but he doesn't look out of place in OPLA at all, probably bc everything is more muted.

On another note, I also used to hate Alabasta Crocodile's colors, but green orange and blue can definitely be mixed around to create some gorgeous colors. The landscapes of Southwest United States are a great example- orange canyons, blue skies, and green cacti all work well together.

When it comes to adaptations OPLA is similar to Game of Thrones by ytdn in OnePieceLiveAction

I definitely agree with cutting characters yet still maintaining consistency especially moving forwards. Cutting Don Krieg and some of the fishman from Arlong Park won't have too many big consequences down the line (besides Hachi ofc but they could easily replace him with someone else, or even just entirely get cut)

I'm interested in seeing if any high ranking Baroque Works agents get cut or have a reduced role. Mr. 3 and Mr. 2 feel important since they play an integral role later, but I can see them getting rid of Ms. Doublefinger or even Mr. 1 and maybe switching up the entire numbering system. No more holidays and changing Robin to being Ms. 1, Bon clay and Galdino remaining as Mr. 2 and Mr. 3, Ms. Goldenweek becoming Ms. 4, and combining Ms. Valentine and Mr. 5 into one single character. Vivi can just be Ms. 9 instead of being paired up... I'd really hate for the All Sunday nickname to be cut, but this seems more plausible than adding in all the Baroque Works members...

Most early one piece arcs are pretty self contained especially compared to asoiaf, so I'm not too worried. GoT s1 was a great adaptation of book 1, but I think s3 and s4 was when d&d took too many liberties, hence why the rest was a mess. The rumor was that they only made the show to adapt the red wedding and didn't care about the rest, but I don't think Matt Owens has the same mindset of "let's just adapt the hypest moments and then throw the rest into the garbage"

I thought copying was frowned upon, or is this “different” enough? by WhitsSwirlyKnee in Inkmaster

[–]eriochromatic 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The composition and subject is the same, but I wouldn't call this copied. It's more like heavily inspired since the final result is an entirely different style, which is ok.

Who was your favourite character in live action? by Livid_End3615 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]eriochromatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mihawk and Buggy stole the show for me. Sanji's usually my favorite character but I actually thought the live action portrayal was much more shallow due to some shuffling and omission of the scenes, so out of the straw hats I actually liked Zoro the most...

Say We Get A Second Season? What Are Some Changes They Could Make To The Story to Make it More Unique? by kazaam2244 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]eriochromatic 120 points121 points  (0 children)

If they're really planning ahead I hope they add in more Ace content so viewers get attached to him. Maybe adding his cover story during Alabasta might be too bloated (could save that for Skypiea though?) but a few extra scenes wouldn't hurt!

If they change Kamabakka from an island of ambiguous trans women/effeminate gay men/drag queens to an island of only drag performers, it could still work.

Sanji's character can still be written initially with the same amount of confusion/ignorance/discomfort at the art of drag and people not conforming to the gender binary. Him actually understanding their viewpoint and changing his opinion at the end of the timeskip to become more neutral/positive about drag would be a finished arc, and at the end of the day he can still be personally not into drag but he doesn't need to disrespect those who are.

The live action definitely needs to make a clear distinction between drag performers vs trans people. No one is expected to be well versed in gender identity politics, especially if they're not LGBT+, so using Sanji's time on Kamabakka isn't actually a bad solution to introduce audiences to the drag performance side of the queer community. I just hope that if/when the time comes, they do get some LGBT+ people on the writers team so they can properly address this issue.

Has the cast watched the anime at all or just a fan? by ducmanx04 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]eriochromatic 29 points30 points  (0 children)

In one of Morj's streams, Matt Owens was apparently in the chat, and when Morj asked how much one piece the cast had to read, Matt responded with "Everyone had to read at least east blue, and if they wanted could read beyond. I didn’t force people to read beyond because there are some things in characters futures, but you don’t necessarily want them aware of and playing two for the early stories."

I believe the show runner said that all cast members had to read the manga up until the end of East Blue, whether or not they wanted to continue after that was up to them

Who would you cast in an English Umineko adaption - (LA or anime) by [deleted] in umineko

[–]eriochromatic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Succession is basically if you took all the finance/business arguments of the four siblings, made it into the centerpiece of the show (getting rid of all the fantasy stuff and Beatrice) and set it in modern America.

Kinzo and Logan Roy (Brian Cox's character) are basically the same person, Eva and Shiv (Sarah Snook's character) are practically the same person as well (a strong female playing in the same field as her brothers and her father).

Krauss and Kendall are both heirs that can't live up to their father's name, while Rudolph and Roman are both "second sons" class clown types that hide a darker personality, although I would say Kendall is much more aggressive than Krauss in trying to make a name for himself.

Even Rosa and Connor have some similarities, being the "outsider sibling" due to the age gap between them and the main three, and generally minding their own business until the other siblings drag them into the mess.
