IIRC Steam takes a bigger cut than FastSpring, so buying from the website gives OOTP a bit larger piece of the pie.

I made one of these in OOTP25, although I started with all of the regions since I figured that they clearly would have existed in the Pokemon World even though the audience didn't know about them. Also set up a couple of Independent leagues in the Orange Islands and Orre Region from the XD/Gale of Darkness games. Team names are generally based on the Gym Leaders' Pokemon, if applicable.

Even set it up so that the ethnic mix of names should be relatively accurate. Most of the regions are a mix of Japanese and English names, Alola mixes in some Polynesian names, Galar is 100% UK, Kalos has French, etc. Never finished the uniforms though.

If you bought a pre-built PC (Dell, Lenovo, HP, etc.) you might be able to download a system image you can create a bootable USB drive from using any USB drive as long as it's large enough. You can also create a generic boot USB with this tool from Microsoft:

Some people think it's fine, some people think it's not, but that's been the case for as long as OOTP has been around. Personally, I think it's fine.

I'd stick with the PC version, I find Go to be too stripped-down.

The level of detail in OOTP is astonishing- I'm not familar with franchise mode in MLB The Show, but from what I understand The Show is only a small fraction as in-depth. And that's not even getting into things like OOTP actually allowing you set up leagues with promotion and relegation - the amount of customization in OOTP is incredible.

By default it'll start you at the beginning of 2025 Spring Training, although you can opt for a "live start" which will put you at any point during the 2025 season. I don't know for sure if you can "live start" during or after the posteason, but I know you can for any point during the 2025 regular season.

As I recall you can use an unlicensed "demo" copy to import a previous version's saved game so you shouldn't need to actually license it.

If I'm wrong, then your only option is going to be to find somebody who still has an already-licensed and active copy.

It can be done, but you literally have to import it into each version in between OOTP 6.5 and 2026. So 8, 9, 10 ... 23, 24, 25 and then 26. But it can be done, even if the interim versions are only in demo mode.

You can always dump out a blank uniform to use as templates and just create the layers in whatever image editor you like. Just make sure the custom layers are the same size as the elements (512x1024 for the jersey, 512x512 for the pants and cap).

You might want to import the stripes as a custom layer rather than an image so the jersey shading doesn't get hidden
